HAWKA CLUB LEGEND UPDATE | BROCKY

The much-loved Craig “Brocky” Brockley may have had a bit of heart maintenance recently, but don’t let that fool you — the old bloke is already back plotting his next move.

Not only is he on the road to a full recovery, he’s already locked himself in as Team Manager for our Men’s Development Squad in 2026. That’s right… fresh out of surgery and keen to get back into the thick of it.

All the best, Brocky — wishing you a slow, steady, and very un-Brocky recovery.

JUNIOR FINALS AT MILLERS

Huge congratulations to David Murrihy and an awesome team of Wayno, Flash, Grant, Neil, Reddars, Billy, Geoff, John, Johnny, Ellen and the canteen team, our senior women, the Hawks Nest Coterie and the “always put your hand up regulars” for running an amazing Juniors Grand Final Day at Millers. Some even missed seeing their own kids playing finals for the good of the club. Special thanks to Kerri and Kira Odd and James from the Juniors who helped all day.

INTERESTED IN HELPING DEVELOP A CLUB NEWSLETTER?

The Hawks would like to develop a club newsletter for club members in early 2025. The newsletter will deliver important club information using a simple process. This is a “one club” newsletter that will cover everything from Auskick, Juniors, Seniors, Coterie, supporters and sponsors.

This is a one-time project to set up a newsletter design email database. You do not need to develop content for the newsletter!

If you have suitable skills, knowledge or enthusiasm we would love for you to lend us a hand. For more information, please reach out to Dave Nicholas via FB Messenger or on 0403 223 477 or boroniahawksfc@gmail.com

60TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY | MICK and KAY KIMMITT

Please join us all in wishing a very Happy 60th Wedding Anniversary to two of our absolute legends, Kay and Mick Kimmitt! These two love birds are so much a part of the fabric of our club and we are indeed so fortunate to have them.

Both are Life Members because of their unfailing devotion in volunteering at the Hawka. In fact, our Club Person of the Year Award is named in their honour. Two sons – Peter and Robert – are also Life Members of the club, so the family’s contribution to Boronia over several decades is immense, and is a continuing legacy. To achieve a Diamond Wedding Anniversary is a wonderful event and we wish them both a very happy celebration with their family.

COMMITTED FUNDING FOR NEW CLUBROOMS

ANNOUNCEMENT FROM MARY DOYLE MP

Tormore Reserve is receiving $5 million from the Albanese Labor Government for their brand new pavilion and facilities upgrades!

I was thrilled to join Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government @catherine_kingmp to announce the funding. This $5 million investment will ensure that @boroniahawksfnc,Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club – Junior and @boronia_cc have the facilities they deserve.

Along with the $1.2 million from the Victorian State Government, this combined $6.2 million project is fully funded and ready to be delivered by Knox City Council.

Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club and Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club – Junior are enormously proud of this generous support for our club. We believe it to be a vote of confidence in our ongoing commitment to maintain a strong and inclusive environment for our players, their families and all our members and local supporters. We are very grateful to @marydoylemp @jacksontaylormp, Catherine King MP and @knoxcouncil for their backing of our sporting, social and wellbeing programs.

On behalf of our club and our co-tenants from Boronia Cricket Club, we all thank you so much!

PLAYER SPONSOR | MCR ELECTRICAL

Thank you to MACEY RYAN and MCR ELECTRICAL for Player Sponsorship of GEOFF BELL for the 2024 season.

“Joffa” has now racked up 31 games for Boronia Vets, and can always be relied on for 100% effort. The same can be said off-field where Geoff is one of our most dedicated and hard working volunteers, always lending a hand at Auskick and at match days. A great club man.
