Premier Women’s Update from Sean Buncle! The Premier side had a solid hitout in wet conditions against good oppositon. The team made the most of the opportunity to test the skills, mindset and work on developing our gamestyle. Another great step forward in our preparation for an exciting season ahead. Women’s Dev. Team Update from Greg Hall! Good last hit out for the Dev side against a similar opposition today. Tough conditions in the wet and handled it well with most of the footy in the middle or our Forward 50. Got some reward on the scoreboard for the hard work in preseason coming together. Masters Update from Danny Weston! The Masters took on The Basin, welcoming 9 new players to our team today, with 8 of those this being their first ever game of football. Fantastic effort by everyone, plenty to work with. Great seeing everyone with a smile on their faces after the game. No injuries either!

Senior Men’s Update! The Hawks won 10.13 v East Burwood 4.4 with eight goal kickers on the day. Storr 2, Edwards 2, Arundell, Begley, M Collins, Fairchild, Robertson, Suttman. Thanks to Karen Butler for the scores and to Event Communication Solutions.

Hawks Development Men’s Team Update by Craig Brockley! The Dev. Team had a good win over East Burwood by about 12 goals. Boronia 15.9 v EB 3.10. Amongst the goals were Rapisarda 4, Bolton 3 and Mason 3. Good signs with 27 players having a run today. Thanks to Craig Brockley and Brighton Gas Company for the update!

Under 19.5’s Update from Luke Hannon! Great 4 quarter effort in the wet. Final scores were approximately Boronia 100 to East Burwood 30. A good effort with a few of the boys playing in the senior game.

HEADSPACE CUP | BORONIA v THE BASIN

A cracking day at Batterham Park in the battle for the Headspace Cup between The Basin and Boronia Hawks Senior Womens teams.

The game was played in great spirit, with both teams coming together at the end of the game to chat about the importance of looking out for each other. Thanks to Dyl Dower and GrowClub for the hoodies. Tilly Birkett and Jaimee Monk both looked great in the hoodies after being named best on ground for their respective teams.


MILESTONE GAMES | APRIL GLARE & PAIGE DEANE

Please join us in congratulating APRIL GLARE and PAIGE DEANE as they both play their 50th game for the Hawks.

An incredible leader and squad person, April has been a huge contributor on and off the field since joining the squad in 2021. April is hard working, determined and has a great understanding of the game allowing her to play in a variety of roles, including being a key pillar in the backline in our Premiership year in 2023. April is a natural leader and has been part of our leadership group for a number of seasons. Congratulations to April for 50 games in the brown and gold.

Deaneo had a huge season is 2024, and has taken her game to a new level in 2025. Her confidence and ability to impact in attack and defence see’s her consistently going against the strongest mids in Premier Division. Paige continues to grow on and off the field and has become an important and well loved member of the club. This is highlighted by her role as Assistant Coach for our Under 18s side supporting the next generation of senior players. Paige is a 2023 Senior Premiership player and has kicked 28 goals since joining the club. Congratulations on 50 games in brown and gold Deaneo!

ANNOUNCEMENT | JAKE GODWIN RE-SIGNS

We’re excited to confirm that Jake Godwin has re-signed with the Boronia Hawks for the 2026 season!

Jake is a versatile and respected leader, capable of impacting games at both ends of the ground but above all, he’s someone who always puts the club first.

A Senior Premiership Player in 2018, Jake then moved north spending a few years in QLD. He featured in the 2024 QAFL Grand Final with Morningside, kicking three goals in a premiership win. He returned home to Boronia in 2025 and hasn’t missed a beat.

His return has been critical as the group adjusted to the demands of Division 1. Whether he’s locking down defenders, pushing forward, or mentoring younger players, Jake does it all with humility, heart, and team-first commitment. Not many come more loyal or genuine than Jake Godwin. We’re wrapt to have him back in the brown and gold for 2026!

Ben has kicked 50+ goals in multiple seasons and remains one of the most dangerous and consistent forwards in the comp. But more than that, he’s a foundation of what makes this club special. His loyalty, passion, and team-first attitude have been instrumental in building the culture that’s delivered three premierships in six years. We’re pumped to have Robbo locked in for 2026. ANNOUNCEMENT | JORDAN CHURCH RE-SIGNS

We’re pumped to announce that Jordan Church has re-signed with the Boronia Hawks for the 2026 season!

Still eligible for Under 19s, Jordan has made a seamless transition into Division 1 footy in his first year at the club and already looks right at home. Whether playing across half-back or through the midfield, his composure, toughness, and footy IQ have stood out all season long. With maturity well beyond his years, Jordan is a key part of our exciting next generation. He’s already a senior Best & Fairest winner at FTG, and in 2025 he’s shown he belongs at Division 1 level with the Hawks.

Jordan carries one of the great Boronia names. He’s the son of Russell Church a 2000 senior premiership player and 2002 Bob Henry Medallist and the nephew of club favourite Rod “Rocket” Church.

We’re thrilled to have him locked in for 2026 — and trust us, keep an eye on this name for many years to come at the Hawka.
