Boronia Hawks welcome the tremendous news that Knox City Council has voted on Monday night to waive annual fees for all not-for-profit community organisation for 2021. In short, we won’t pay for the use of our two grounds and pavilions again in 2021.
Council has provided enormous support to Boronia Hawks and similar sporting clubs through their COVID-19 Community and Business Support packages over the last two years. Such support is incredibly valuable as the local community emerges from the wellbeing and mental health impact of lockdown.
Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club Inc. is proud to announce the appointment of Pierre Schumann to the role of Under 19’s Coach for season 2021.
We are also delighted to announce that Pierre will be joined by senior players Ben Robertson and Sean Young as Assistant Coaches. Robbo has been involved with the Under 19’s for several years while Youngy joins the panel in his first year at Boronia. We expect a couple more announcements in the very near future.
Pierre is a former junior and senior premiership player of our Club and brings with him a wealth of coaching experience to our Under 19 player cohort. I was fortunate to have Pierre as my development coach in a ‘previous life’ at another club and I can guarantee you our players will get a passionate, caring, and knowledgeable coach who drives high standards and behaviours that mirror the culture and values of our senior club.
Pierre’s record as a local coach in relation to premiership success is second to none. Having coached 6 teams to premierships, Pierre has an intricate understanding on what is required to create sustained team success.
Shoey, it is fantastic to have you back at ‘The Hawka’ and we look forward to watching you prepare and develop our senior players of the future!

Boronia Hawks have entered in to a great new partnership with our long-time bankers at Community Bank Wantirna, associated with Bendigo Bank. As part of this partnership, we are very proud that the Bank will be the jumper sponsors for our two Women’s Teams in 2021.
It is terrific to see this support for community sport and recreation and particularly in the booming growth of women’s footy. Thanks again to John and the team at Community Bank Wantirna!
Please join us for the 2020 AGM including the election of office bearers for 2020/21.
As a result of the Coronavirus pandemic the 2020 BFNC Annual General Meeting will be held online for the first time in the Club’s history. Due to the nature of this change, the Club will be providing information in the lead-up to the AGM on how members can register to attend, and how the meeting will run.
In addition to the AGM, a Special General Meeting will also be held prior to the AGM to vote on minor changes to the Club’s Constitution to reflect the growth since our One Club implementation in 2017.

The Senior Committee and Board of Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club would like to extend our best wishes to Fletch who has decided to accept a Director of Coaching role at another club for season 2021.
Fletch has made an outstanding contribution to the BHFNC over a very long period of time. I had the pleasure of coaching Fletch and as a player and he went on to play over 100 senior games for our club. As a player, he always gave 100%, and in his next role as a coach, he certainly continued on a pathway of growth and learning and gave our underage players tremendous support and coaching whilst in their formative years. Fletch was a coach in the true sense of the word. He was a role model, a mentor, and a friend to his players. He had their respect and he always pushed his players to become senior players of our club.
Fletch’s resume at Boronia is most impressive:
Under 18 assistant in 2001
Coached under 12 in 2003
Coached other junior teams from 2004 to 2007
Coached under 18 /19’s from 2010 to 2013
Coached reserves in 2014/15
Senior development coach in 2015
Coach of under 15’s in 2015
Coach of under 17’s from 2016 / 19
Coach of under 19’s from 2018 / 20
Made Grand Finals in 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2018 and PREMIERS 2018!
ERCA Development Coach of the Year 2015
BHFNC Best Clubman 2013
Mick Spencer Award for Junior Volunteer of the Year 2018
This is one hell of a resume!!
Thank you for your great service Fletch, we wish you well, look forward to monitoring your progress at the mighty Dalyston!
Greg, who is fondly known around the club as “Lou” due to his uncanny resemblance of Lou Carpenter on Neighbours, has agreed to coach the Vet’s for 2021. A former barrel chested, power house on baller for Mitcham’s 1st Division side, Greg has formed a tight knit group of ageing veterans eager to taste September action again. Despite lucrative counter offers from other clubs we are delighted to secure the services of Greg for another year
MARK O’NEIL: SENIOR VET’S ASSISTANT COACH
Known as “Owie” to the playing group, Mark is a former 1st Division player for Boronia who was known for his prowess around goals. Owie’s ability to work the “whiteboard” makes for game changing interchange moves. Being the tactical brains of this dynamic duo, we look forward to seeing how the Vets fare in 2021.
