A very big thank you to JACKSON TAYLOR MP, one of our most loyal supporters and advocates. Jackson was thrilled to hold our three premiership cups earlier this week.
Jackson is our state government representative and was instrumental in securing funding for the redevelopment of the Boronia shopping precinct and our own new pavilion. Please thank Jackson for all his support. We really hope to visit him next year with more cups!
Tormore Reserve is receiving $5 million from the Albanese Labor Government for their brand new pavilion and facilities upgrades!
I was thrilled to join Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government @catherine_kingmp to announce the funding. This $5 million investment will ensure that @boroniahawksfnc,Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club – Junior and @boronia_cc have the facilities they deserve.
Along with the $1.2 million from the Victorian State Government, this combined $6.2 million project is fully funded and ready to be delivered by Knox City Council.
Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club and Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club – Junior are enormously proud of this generous support for our club. We believe it to be a vote of confidence in our ongoing commitment to maintain a strong and inclusive environment for our players, their families and all our members and local supporters. We are very grateful to @marydoylemp@jacksontaylormp, Catherine King MP and @knoxcouncil for their backing of our sporting, social and wellbeing programs.
On behalf of our club and our co-tenants from Boronia Cricket Club, we all thank you so much!
We are excited to announce that Jackson Taylor MP is on board again as a loyal sponsor of Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club!
We’re glad to have Jackson on board for another season. As we all know, Jackson is a strong supporter of Boronia Hawks, helping to secure $1.2 million from the State Labor Government for the new Tormore Reserve Pavilion.
Jackson knows the difference that a club like Boronia can make in the lives of our community, and we’re very much looking forward to working with him. Make sure to get around Jackson and say hello next time we see him at Tormore Reserve!
Our local member for Bayswater, Jackson Taylor MP has been a long-time supporter of the club and from the moment he was first elected he has been in our corner working to secure $1.2 million towards our new clubrooms.
What many people won’t know is that he worked tirelessly behind the scenes in helping us navigate a path forward and generating momentum to ultimately make the new clubroom a reality. Quite simply, without his help the new clubroom may not have happened.
His love of the Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club shone through on Grand Final day as he cheered nervously from the outer wing all kitted out in his Hawka merch.
As the premiership cup tour continues, a stop off at his Bayswater office beckoned and it was great to show him the silverware up close and to grab a photo.
Many politicians have come and gone after promising the world to us, but Jackson has been a man of his word and for that we can’t thank him enough!
From our great supporter, Jackson Taylor MP: “$1.2 million to help deliver a new pavilion at Tormore Reserve in Boronia is now fully funded. In other words – you beauty!”
It was a four year journey for me since elected in 2018 to get to the commitment of $1.2 million to deliver new facilities for Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club and Boronia Cricket Club, but it’s been an even longer journey for them.
So this is an exciting moment. With funding now in the budget that means we can move a step closer to delivering the facilities these legends and the broader community deserve.
$1 million will go towards delivering the new pavilion and $200,000 will go to helping the clubs fit-out the rooms – which means a lot of the stress that usually comes with a new home.
It’s no secret. I’m a massive supporter of grassroots sports and unashamedly so. I believe in it’s power to change lives.
And with these new facilities – it’ll make that job even easier and encourage more people to get involved, particularly girls and women who maybe couldn’t have due to the dated facilities not being fit for purpose.
This will change all that. Now, let’s get on with it!
Boronia Hawks FNC is absolutely delighted to announce the pledge of $1.2M dollars to go towards our new pavilion from @jacksontaylormp and the Andrews Labor Government.
Jackson’s ongoing support of our Club has been nothing short of remarkable since he was elected as our local member. His tireless energy and capacity to always engage in our club community have been astounding and it is very much appreciated from a club level. Jackson, we thank you sincerely!!
Upon re-election, the Andrews Government has most generously pledged the sum of $1.0M towards our new pavilion and $0.2M towards the fit-out of the new pavilion and social rooms. The $0.2M will enable us to purchase quality appliances and furniture and should set our club up for many years to come!
With the pledge of $5.0M from Alan Tudge MPand the Federal Government, this now amounts to $6.0M towards our badly needed new pavilion. The players, supporters, and members of the Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club and Boronia Cricket Clubwill soon have one of the finest pavilions in the Eastern Suburbs thanks to the incredible support of both Jackson and Alan.
The Club has been very fortunate to have vital financial support from the Victorian Government during the Covid-19 pandemic. We once again express our gratitude to Jackson Taylor MP for supporting community sporting clubs as we acknowledge this latest grant of $1,500, for a total of $4,000 received over the last two years.
Thanks once again to Jackson Taylor MP for his great support of our Club through the COVID-19 support package for community sport and recreation bodies.
It is a tough time for all community clubs, and our footy and netball players and supporters are naturally disappointed, but understanding of the cancellation of our senior seasons. It is good to know that you and Dan Andrews are looking out for the grassroots sporting clubs that are so important to suburban and country Victoria.
Thank you also to our Special K Team, Karen Little and Kerryn Westcott who are doing a brilliant job in seeking grants for the Club to support our programs. We are very grateful to these two ladies who put in the time and effort to work through complicated grants applications for the benefit of all club members.
