Thank you to Boronia Hawks’ 2018 Platinum Partner: Knox Club

Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club is very proud to announce the continuation of our longstanding and loyal association with the Knox Club, once again our Platinum Partner for 2018.

Many thanks to Knox Club President Brian Asley, Ryan Clayton and the whole team for their generous support of our community club.

All Boronia players, supporters, family and friends are encouraged to regularly visit the Knox Club and enjoy the great hospitality of their first rate bistro, cafe and bars.

Announcement of 2018 Netball Teams

It is very exciting to announce that Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club will once again be fielding 3 teams in the 2018 EFL Netball season.  Congratulations to Sherridan Martin, our Director of Inclusion and Netball Manager, for all her great work over the off-season in getting everything organised in the lead up to another great year.

We are very pleased to welcome 13 new players across our 3 teams this year, including Ellie Ingerwersen, the former EFL Admin, Events and Netball Manager.  In what is almost a direct swap, former star Hawk Petra Keogh has recently started as Ellie’s replacement with the EFL!

We are also very pleased that our great supporters and sponsors at Glenbrae Signs have refreshed our club logo to incorporate a netball!

Stand by for more announcements in the very near future as we quickly approach round 1 on Friday 13 April.

Tackling Training for our Womens Team with @malcolmbangsTT

Our Boronia Hawks Women’s Team thoroughly enjoyed their recent training session with Malcolm Bangs, a specialist tackling coach!  Malcom runs a Tackles and Takedowns program that combines AFL tackling with judo principles and balance techniques.  We were very fortunate to have Malcolm come down to work with the girls, and we are very grateful for his time.  The feedback from the girls was very positive, and they continue to enjoy all their skills sessions with Senior Womens Coach, Ray Lacey.

Malcolm has extensive experience including clients such as Geelong FC (AFL), Carlton FC (AFLW), Werribee FC (VFL), Melbourne Uni WFC (VFLW), Calder Cannons FC, Eastern Ranges FC (TAC Cup / TAC Cup YG).  He can now add the mighty Hawks to his resume!  Be sure to check out Malcolm’s feeds on Twitter and Instagram at @malcolmbangsTT

All prospective players, regardless of footy experience, are very welcome to join us on Monday and Wednesday nights at Miller Park on Mountain Highway, Boronia.  It’s all about Fun, Friends, Fitness and Footy.  Please contact our Senior President Scott Nicholas on 0403 238 494 for any enquiries.

Boronia Hawks at the Knox Festival on Saturday 3 March

Boronia Hawks have been lucky enough to secure a stall at the Knox Festival this coming weekend on Saturday 3 March from 10:00am to 1:00pm.  This is a great opportunity to get the Club out there amongst the community and attract some new boys and girls to come on down and play footy with the Hawks.

We will have a handball target and Hawka hats and beanies to give away.  We will also have flyers with information about the Club and our Boronia Auskick Centre.

If anyone is available to come down and help sometime during this session, your assistance would be greatly appreciated!  Please contact Ellisa Schmidtke on 0417 593 884 who will be happy to provide you with the relevant information.  Otherwise, please pop in and say hello!

Thank you to Knox City Council: TDS Advanced Club Management

Boronia Hawks are very grateful to Knox City Council for all the co-operation and assistance they provide to help us to run an effective and welcoming community club for the people of Boronia.  On this occasion, we wish to acknowledge Council’s generous assistance in the Club’s implementation of the Terry Dillon Solutions Advanced Club Management package.  The TDS implementation has been supported by a grant from the Knox City Council Minor Grants Program.

What is TDS?
“Terry Dillon Solutions is the A-Z of running your community club. The package has been designed to support all community clubs and not-for-profit organisations. More than 160+ short videos and an online ‘filing cabinet’ full of spreadsheets, document templates and more information to guide you on all key areas of club operations. Plus, you can contact TDS by phone or email for further support!”

“It doesn’t matter whether your club needs a full rebuild or just wants to go to the next level, Terry Dillon Solutions shows you and your fellow executives how to be effective committee members. The program covers proven ways of maximising revenue for your club, how to deal with the demands of managing human resources and, importantly, establishing the strong governance and financial structures that will underpin sustained success for your community club.”
