Congratulations to Jon Wade on senior selection this week after playing well each week in the 19’s. Jon joined us after two strong seasons with Waverley Blues, earning multiple Team of the Week selections and continuing to impress at a high level while still being U19 eligible.
In 2025, Jon was part of the Oakleigh Chargers program, further developing through the elite pathway. His junior career includes multiple B&F’s, along with a Runner-Up League Best and Fairest in U16A. Get along on Saturday and wish him well! Thank to Repurpose It for supporting our Under 19’s team.
After 3 tough years away from the game due to a number of serious injuries, it was fantastic to see Zac Schmidtke named last night for for the 19’s game tomorrow.
Throughout his time being sidelined since the 2023 season, Zac has remained a huge part of the Hawka family — running water, managing rotations on game day and always lending a hand wherever needed.
A true clubman whose commitment and support for the Hawka Senior teams has never wavered. It’s great to see his perseverance, resilience and all that hard work finally pay off. Everyone at the Hawka is proud to see Zac back doing what he loves.

Congratulations to two of our Under 18 girls making their debut in our Senior Women’s Premier Division Team on Saturday against The Basin.
We hope both Shayla and Charity had a great time and really enjoyed the experience.

Teams are in for the two mens’ matches against Mulgrave on Saturday. Jake Mellis returns for the firsts; and four changes in the Dev. Squad where four experienced campaigners come in for ….. another four experienced campaigners!
The Dev Men are off to Walker Park again this Sunday to battle their way through to the Grand Final.
Finishing top of the ladder at the end of the home and away season, they now face off against East Burwood who finished second rung in a fight to secure a spot in the big dance.
