Thank you to Boronia Hawks’ 2018 Platinum Partner: Knox Club

Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club is very proud to announce the continuation of our longstanding and loyal association with the Knox Club, once again our Platinum Partner for 2018.

Many thanks to Knox Club President Brian Asley, Ryan Clayton and the whole team for their generous support of our community club.

All Boronia players, supporters, family and friends are encouraged to regularly visit the Knox Club and enjoy the great hospitality of their first rate bistro, cafe and bars.

Announcement of 2018 Netball Teams

It is very exciting to announce that Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club will once again be fielding 3 teams in the 2018 EFL Netball season.  Congratulations to Sherridan Martin, our Director of Inclusion and Netball Manager, for all her great work over the off-season in getting everything organised in the lead up to another great year.

We are very pleased to welcome 13 new players across our 3 teams this year, including Ellie Ingerwersen, the former EFL Admin, Events and Netball Manager.  In what is almost a direct swap, former star Hawk Petra Keogh has recently started as Ellie’s replacement with the EFL!

We are also very pleased that our great supporters and sponsors at Glenbrae Signs have refreshed our club logo to incorporate a netball!

Stand by for more announcements in the very near future as we quickly approach round 1 on Friday 13 April.

Successful Volunteers Information Day

A very big thank you to everyone who was able to come along today for our Volunteers Information Day.  We had a great representation from the juniors and seniors and it is really encouraging to see our One Club coming together so well.

Thanks to Greg Hannon, Matt Clark and Steve Teakel for talking to the group and giving us an insight into their own backgrounds. They also talked about the great pathway they see at the Hawks in bringing our talented juniors through to senior football as One Club.

Thanks as always to Ellen Johnson for her catering and to Boronia Cricket Club for the use of the rooms during the off-season.

BUZZ IS BACK TO BORONIA!

Boronia Hawks are very pleased to announce that former captain Matthew Buzinskas has signed with the Club and will return for Season 2018.

Buzz is one of the best performed Hawkers of the last decade, with over 150 Senior games and over 160 Senior goals. A former Boronia junior, Buzz was co-captain with Nathan Allen in 2015 before moving to Watsonia in the NFL where he won their B&F. He spent 2017 with Wantirna South in Division 2, but now comes back home to Tormore Reserve.

Football Manager, Ash Johnston says that Buzz’s strength and experience will bolster our midfield group and that we all know Buzz loves to kick a goal!

Everyone at Boronia is very pleased to welcome Buzz and his partner Karena, their baby Brax and the whole Buzinskas family back home to Boronia. Please get around them all!
