FOUR HAWKS REACH CLUB MILESTONES

Please join us all in congratulating four of our senior players who reach personal milestones with the Hawks on 14 June.

A huge congrats to Brayden Wright, who notches up his 100th game for Boronia this weekend! Wrighty was a key part of our Development Squad premierships in 2018 and 2019, holding down the ruck with athleticism and consistency. After a couple of seasons at Ferntree Gully, it’s great to have him back in the brown and gold. Well done, Wrighty!

One of the premier midfielders in the EFNL, Steph Phillips has starred for Boronia since joining in 2021. Runners up in the Ellen Johnson Medal on three occasions, Steph has also been selected in the EFNL Team of the Year in our 2023 premiership year. Congratulations Steph on reaching 50 games in brown and gold!

A huge congratulations to James Gardiner-Hoffman on playing his 50th game for the Boronia Hawks FNC! After a couple of seasons away, we couldn’t be happier to have him back in the brown and gold where he belongs. Welcome home, Jimmy — and here’s to many more games in the Hawka guernsey!

Congratulations to Mitch Mellis, who notches up his 50th senior game for Boronia Football Club this weekend! In just 50 games, Mitch has built an impressive resume – 2 premierships, a Bob Henry Medal, and Division 2 2x League Best & Fairest. A dynamic midfielder with skill and toughness, Mitch consistently leads by example. The son of Boronia great Cam Mellis, Mitch continues the family legacy with pride and passion every time he pulls on the jumper. Well done Mitch – here’s to many more in the brown and gold!

150 GAMES | LACHLAN McKERNAN

This week, 2018 Premiership Captain Lachie McKernan plays his 150th match wearing the brown and gold.

LMac has been instrumental in establishing a team-oriented culture that has facilitated our club’s very good name within the EFNL. LMac has been a leader of men, a bloody fine player, and a great support to the coaching staff throughout his career at Boronia.

A tough, uncompromising onballer who always played team-oriented football. LMac retired from senior football with much petrol still in the tank for family and business reasons at the end of 2021, but has returned this season to help with our transition into Div 1. Many of his leadership dispositions are still seen and lived through Harry Burgess, Luke Hannon, and Ryan White as LMac’s legacy will be long-standing.

We congratulate LMac on 150 great games at The Hawka, and we thank and acknowledge his contribution to the broader growth of our club.

150 GAMES | RYAN WHITE

This weekend, RYAN WHITE will run out for his 150th game with the Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club! ??

A true champion of the brown and gold, Ryan’s list of achievements is as impressive as his commitment:

? 3 x Premiership Player

? 2 x Bob Henry Medals (Senior Best & Fairest)

? 2 x Ray Lacey Medals (Under 17 Best & Fairest)

? 2 x EFNL Team of the Year selections

? Current member of the Leadership group and Vice Captain.

Congratulations Whitey! A huge milestone for a club legend. Whitey is proudly sponsored by Knox Leisureworks

50 GAMES | BREE WATSON

Please join us all in congratulating BREE WATSON on achieving the milestone of 50 games with Boronia Hawks.

Bree played netball for the Hawks before signing up for footy in 2018. Bree went on to captain the club in 2022 and was of course our inaugural premiership captain in 2023. She has been a fixture in the backline but did sneak forward for one memorable goal in 2022! Bree is very proudly supported by Phil Watson and Complete Sports Services.

50 GAMES | AMANDA CELLANTE

Please join us all in congratulating Amanda Cellante on her 50th game for the Hawks.

Amanda is a former club captain, an Ellen Johnson Medallist, former member of the Junior Committee, the current Under 18’s Coach, and a premiership player in 2023. She also has the distinction of playing 50 games for the club in both football and netball.

Amanda is a recognised as a great player and volunteer for the club and we wish her the very best for her milestone game.
