Any volunteers please?

Boronia Hawks are looking for someone from the Club community to help out Kristan Wood and Samantha Dunkinson with our sponsorships.

It’s not running the show – we just need a spare pair of hands from an enthusiastic volunteer or two. As an example, we could do with someone who could look after the player sponsorships, just like Fletch in 2017. Maybe grab a mate or a partner and put both hands up!

If you would like to help out, please speak to Woody or send him a quick text on 0411 605 203.

GO HAWKA!

Vale Faye Manfre

It is with a heavy heart and much sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of Faye Manfre, mum of one of our U17’s players Matt Manfre.

Faye passed away earlier this week after a long illness. Tragically for Matt, his sister Sara and his family, today marks the second anniversary of the loss of their father.

The thoughts and prayers of the Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club community are with Matt, his sister Sara, and his uncle and aunt Peter and Sonia, who will now care for their nephew and niece.

Boronia Hawks at the Knox Festival on Saturday 3 March

Boronia Hawks have been lucky enough to secure a stall at the Knox Festival this coming weekend on Saturday 3 March from 10:00am to 1:00pm.  This is a great opportunity to get the Club out there amongst the community and attract some new boys and girls to come on down and play footy with the Hawks.

We will have a handball target and Hawka hats and beanies to give away.  We will also have flyers with information about the Club and our Boronia Auskick Centre.

If anyone is available to come down and help sometime during this session, your assistance would be greatly appreciated!  Please contact Ellisa Schmidtke on 0417 593 884 who will be happy to provide you with the relevant information.  Otherwise, please pop in and say hello!

We are looking for Team Managers!

Boronia Hawks are looking for keen parents or supporters to volunteer as Team Managers for the coming season. With Stu McDonald stepping down after many years of volunteering, we now have Team Manager vacancies for the Reserves, U19’s and the inaugural Womens Team.

If you want to be actively involved with the Hawks and support our teams on game days, please speak to your coach or contact Scott Nicholas on 0403 238 494 or Tim Currie on 0412 938 678.

Remember: Team Managers also receive a Premiership Medal!

Successful Volunteers Information Day

A very big thank you to everyone who was able to come along today for our Volunteers Information Day.  We had a great representation from the juniors and seniors and it is really encouraging to see our One Club coming together so well.

Thanks to Greg Hannon, Matt Clark and Steve Teakel for talking to the group and giving us an insight into their own backgrounds. They also talked about the great pathway they see at the Hawks in bringing our talented juniors through to senior football as One Club.

Thanks as always to Ellen Johnson for her catering and to Boronia Cricket Club for the use of the rooms during the off-season.

Are you interested in supporting the Boronia Football Netball Club in 2018?

There are lots of volunteer roles around the Club for a variety of different people! From committee positions and specific roles around the club throughout the season, to smaller jobs on game day.

It doesn’t matter if you have lots of time, or only a little. It doesn’t matter if you’ve volunteered before or not.  We’re here to support everyone and make it easy, flexible and fun for you to get involved.

We’re proud to have a strong network of fantastic volunteers, but we’re always looking for more.

So if you’re keen to help out, or have some more questions about the different roles on offer, please contact Kristan Wood on 0411 605 203.
