Girls Footy “Come and Try” Day
The Boronia Hawks Girls Footy “Come and Try” Day was a great success with all the girls getting stuck into it and having a great time. We all look forward to another footy clinic for the girls during the September holidays.
Harry Burgess, BFC GM, had a dream team assembled to look after the girls. We extend a huge thank you to: Olivia Flanagan from Box Hill Hawks VFL Womens & Vic Metro Girls; Mel Hogg & Elle Short, womens football players with AFL Victoria; Sean Buncle from EFL; Craig McKenzie from BJFC; and Damon Webb from BFNC.
Boronia Football Club and Boronia Junior Football Club are working together to give girls in Boronia the opportunity to enjoy a good game of footy out on the ground, not from the sidelines. Look out for more action photos on Facebook very soon!

Boronia Football Club has been fortunate over the past few years to have Rick Castricum with us as our Club Chaplain. Rick is very well experienced as a football coach, spending time with Williamstown, Scotch College and in the EFL. Former Senior captain, Nathan Allen is back in the Boronia Hawks Seniors after a long battle with serious injuries. We all congratulate him on his successful comeback and wish him well.
This Saturday – Boronia v Templestowe at Tormore Reserve
It’s a huge day at Tormore Reserve on Saturday as the Boronia Hawks take on 2016 runner-up Templestowe. The 1977 Triple Premiership Reunion will see dozens of past champions at the club to relive those flags. All Boronia supporters are encouraged to come along and back the boys.
1977 Premiership Reunion – Special Edition of “The Hawker”
It was 40 years ago that Boronia Football Club won all three premierships – Firsts, Seconds and Thirds – in the Eastern District Football League Division 3. Those champion players of 1977, and all other past players, are cordially invited to relive their glory days on Saturday 1 July at Tormore Reserve.
Many thanks to David Murrihy and John Tunstall and the Past Players and Supporters Group for their efforts in arranging the reunion.
School Holidays “Come and Try” Day for Girls Footy!
Do you know any 10-13 year old girls interested in giving footy a go? Maybe they already play and want to take their game to a new level?
After the success of the recent Girls School Footy Day (which was enthusiastically supported by our club), we would love to see a whole range of 10-13 year old girls join in our school holiday clinic. It is set to be lots of fun and a chance to develop skills and knowledge about our great game.
