2023 Election of Board and Committees

Congratulations to all who have been elected to the 2023 Board of Directors, Junior Committee and Senior Committee at the AGM on 26 October 2022.

We thank Tanya Parkins and David Nicholas who have retired from the Board but will act in their roles until new appointments are confirmed. We also thank former Chairperson Scott Nicholas for his vision and leadership over five years. Scott played an enormous role taking us through the “one club” transition; the founding of our women’s football program; the fostering of an inclusive culture and the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. #boroniahawks

Big Name Recruits across the League – especially at Boronia Hawks

“Plenty of off-season movement for the Hawks as they increase their depth at the club with multiple star players.

Former Essendon and Frankston midfielder Josh Begley is among those significant signings for the club, opening the premiership window up for the Hawks. Begley brings a combination of leadership, experience and talent with the ability to take the side to another level. He’ll be joined by Jethro Von Hesse who spent the last five seasons at Upwey-Tecoma, the two already have a solid connection with one another. Both are versatile quick big-bodied players with exceptional skills.

The club have also continued to develop their midfield depth and versatility with the additions of young stars, Max Brasher, Luke Flanagan, Haydn Stanley and Lachie Wright.

Both Brasher and Flanagan arrive from Upper Ferntree Gully with experience at senior-level footy in Division One. After two EFNL Best and Fairest awards in his junior career, Brasher has transitioned into senior footy well, placing in the top four of the club’s best and fairest in his first year of senior football. Flanagan has also transitioned into senior footy after winning the 2021 Under 19’s Best and Fairest”.

Haydn Stanley joins the Hawks.

BHFNC is delighted to announce the signing of Haydn Stanley!

Haydn played his junior football at the Upwey-Tecoma Football Club prior to playing two seasons at Eastern Ranges. He soon graduated into a senior footballer at Upwey and last season was a senior player at Vermont Football Club

An inside midfielder and genuine utility player, Haydn looks forward to joining our club and playing football with many of his closest mates

I’ve been fortunate to know Haydn and his parents Deb and Jaret for over 15 years and have no doubt, we have just recruited not only an exceptional footballer, but a great person!

Welcome to Jethro!

Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club are very pleased to announce that JETHRO VON HESSE has signed on with the Hawka for 2023!

Jethro played juniors for Berwick where he won a couple of premierships including a Best on Ground performance in one of them. He then moved to Upwey Tecoma FC where he has played senior football for the last five years.

Jethro started his senior career as a centre half back but has since developed his running game to now play in the midfield. He is known for his composure and having plenty of time with the ball as well as being very good by foot and hitting a target.

Please welcome Jethro to the Hawka who will further bolster our inside and outside run in 2023.
