Boronia Hawks are very pleased to welcome Nick Heuston to our Club for the upcoming season.
Nick joins us from Upper Ferntree Gully, where he has played since his junior days. Nick won Upper’s Rising Star Award in the U19’s in 2013, before moving straight in to the Seniors in 2014. He has now played 43 senior games which shows that he will bring plenty to the Hawks.

Boronia Hawks are looking for enthusiastic people to assist in the development of our Female Football program. Do you want the chance to influence the direction of a brand new program? Well this is your opportunity.
Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club is affiliated with the Eastern Football League. The club has recently merged with the Boronia Junior Football Club creating a ‘One Club’ pathway from Auskick to Adults. We’re also part of the rapidly growing EFL Netball competition in which we’ve won the Premier Grand Final in two of the four seasons the competition has existed. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive community club.
The Hawks are looking for experienced and enthusiastic people who have a passion for player development and can assist the club expand its offerings for female footballers. We’re also willing to support someone with limited experience, that’s ready to give it a go!
The club is looking to fill the role of Female Football Coordinator, as well as the following positions in season 2018 for both an Under 12 Girls team, and a Women’s team:
With female football the largest growth area in the sport, it is an exciting time to be involved.

Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club are extremely excited about the revolutionary approach in 2018 to developing our young footballers. The “Hawk Squad” is made up of the Under 17 Ray Lacey team and the Under 19 David Murrihy team, working together to develop overall footy excellence and improved pathways to senior football. Boronia Hawks are very pleased to welcome Julian Rambaldo back to Boronia. Rambo last played for the Hawks in the 2015 Under 19’s where he was named Most Consistent Player in a very strong side. He moved on to Mitcham in 2nd Division for two years, where he played nine senior games in 2017 and was runner-up in the 2017 EFL Reserves Best and Fairest. Rambo is a tough and courageous player who will add both skill and strength to the Hawks.
Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club is pleased to announce the panel of Assistant Coaches to support Craig McKenzie with the 2018 Hawk Squad – our combined U19’s and U17’s teams.
We are particularly excited to welcome Brayden Bowes to the coaching team. The big fella brings some great experience as an assistant coach for Rowville Knights who won the U17A premiership in 2017. Big Ben Robertson, Luke Biddau and Damon Webb have worked with Fletch over the past few seasons and bring a wealth of playing experience to help guide the 17’s and 19’s.

The Club is very grateful for the long term commitment offered by Fletchers and their particular focus on supporting our junior teams. Former Boronia player and junior coach Daniel Bolton is the Director and Auctioneer at Fletchers Mooroolbark. Daniel is a long-time local and has worked in real estate in the area since 2011 and is delighted to offer the premier Fletchers service to Boronia members and supporters. Dan was recently recognised as Fletchers’ 2017 Senior Auctioneer of the Year and “has an excellent track record of exceeding client expectations by offering the highest level of service. Professional and honest, Daniel supports his vendors through every step of the sale process, from listing and presentation through to the ultimate sale result”.
Dan has recently been joined by current Boronia champion Jess Bolton, who has left North Melbourne Football Club to take up a position as Property Consultant with Fletchers Mooroolbark.
Boronia Hawks are very pleased to announce that former captain Matthew Buzinskas has signed with the Club and will return for Season 2018.
Buzz is one of the best performed Hawkers of the last decade, with over 150 Senior games and over 160 Senior goals. A former Boronia junior, Buzz was co-captain with Nathan Allen in 2015 before moving to Watsonia in the NFL where he won their B&F. He spent 2017 with Wantirna South in Division 2, but now comes back home to Tormore Reserve.
Football Manager, Ash Johnston says that Buzz’s strength and experience will bolster our midfield group and that we all know Buzz loves to kick a goal!
