Luke Flanagan is Back to Boronia

Boronia Hawks are very excited to welcome LUKE FLANAGAN back to Boronia for the 2023 season.

Luke is coming back home to Boronia after playing his junior career with the Hawks through to 2019.

He played an exceptional 150 games for the club at junior level, and was named as 2019 Best Finals Player in his final season with the Under 17’s.

Luke spent 2021 and 2022 at UFTG, playing with mates. He won Upper’s 2021 Under 19’s B&F and was also named as their MVP. He debuted in the seniors in 2021, and then stepped up and played 12 games in a very solid season of Division 1 football in 2022. We are delighted to have Luke and his family back at the Club.

Many thanks to Repurpose It for their support of our 2023 Preseason.

Welcome to Max Brasher

Boronia Hawks are very excited to welcome MAX BRASHER to the Club for the 2023 season.

Max joins Boronia from UFTG to play footy with his brother Zack, who enjoyed a break out year in 2022 before injury ended his season.

Max is a decorated junior player with two EFNL B&F’s and one runner-up.  He also represented the league in Under 14’s and Under 15’s.  Max has won four club B&F’s at junior level and was a premiership captain in Under 11’s and Under 14’s.

He has made a successful transition to senior football in 2021 and 2022, coming fourth in the UFTG B&F in his first full year of senior footy.

We look forward to Max enjoying his football career with Boronia and we have no doubt he will be a great addition to the team.  Please make him feel very welcome at Tormore Reserve.

A Message from Flash

The entire BHFNC should be mighty proud of its efforts over the past four weeks of hosting the Division One finals series.

The EFNL and competing clubs were lost for words in their gratitude for the organisation and efforts of our many, many volunteers over the month!

Headed up by Murra, our team worked cohesively and the many long days will now hold our club in greater financial strength as we move forward to our 2023 season.

To our early morning set up teams, to our bar teams, our burger teams, and canteen ladies, our traffic controllers, and our hlepers who kept carrying out stock to all the various tents, what an effort. In the coming few weeks we will be having a pleasant Sunday afternoon of thanks to all our helpers, I’ll get that date and time locked in ASAP.

Once all the bills are paid, we hope to announce our profit as it’s important all volunteers understand just how meaningful it is to the club to give so much of their time over the past four weekends.

Behind the scenes, we are working most nights to speak with potential recruits, plan our pre-season, reflect with trainers, and work diligently to ensure 2023 is an amazing year for the Hawka! Our coaches in all areas are now appointed and we hope you can all join us at one of our two presentation nights to properly give thanks and gratitude for this season.

Sincerely, thank you once again!!!

GREG HANNON, Senior President, BHFNC

Jake Lock

The Boronia Hawks community has been shocked and saddened to learn of the recent passing of Jakeb Lock. Jake was a great supporter our women’s football program as the partner of Jess Buzinskas.

Go Fund Me page: In loving memory of Jakeb Lock.

Jake Lock

Jake has looked after the players’ children as part of our Little Hawka’s childcare for several years and over that time became a much loved part of the team. How lucky we were to find someone who loved our kids as much as the mums did and who gave the mums an opportunity to train and play footy because their kids were so well taken care of.

The Club’s players and supporters all express our deep sorrow and sympathy to Jess and her family and to Jake’s many family and friends. We also ask you to please consider a contribution to the Go Fund Me page, established by Candyce Wright and Erin Stanios, to assist Jess.
