ANNOUNCEMENT OF WOMEN’S COACH

Boronia Hawks are very pleased to announce that Boronia legend RAY LACEY has been appointed as our Women’s Coach for the 2018 season in the Eastern Region Women’s Football League. Ray has a long history with the Boronia Football Netball Club, and we are thrilled to announce him as our Women’s Coach.

Ray is one of the most decorated players in the club’s history. He is a Life Member and his involvement has spanned more than 40 years. He played over 300 senior games for the Hawks, making him a Life Member of the Eastern Football League as well. This included Senior Best & Fairest Awards in 1979, 1984, 1990; five times runner-up; Senior Captain in 1990, and a number of Senior premierships as well. Ray is a true legend of the Club and along with his wealth of experience, he also has three daughters who are looking to play in 2018.

Training starts next Wednesday!

Training will start next Wednesday 14 February at 6pm at Miller Park, Boronia. Training will initially focus on basic skills and having a bit of fun, but we will be also providing more information about the season ahead. Please bring along; runners (no football boots required), comfortable clothes suitable for training, and any friends who are interested in giving it a go! Remember all levels of experience and ability are welcome and all players who attend training will receive a FREE Boronia Hawks singlet!

Ray has the full support of the Club for the year ahead and we couldn’t be happier to have him on board!

Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club are extremely excited about the revolutionary approach in 2018 to developing our young footballers. The “Hawk Squad” is made up of the Under 17 Ray Lacey team and the Under 19 David Murrihy team, working together to develop overall footy excellence and improved pathways to senior football. Successful Volunteers Information Day

A very big thank you to everyone who was able to come along today for our Volunteers Information Day. We had a great representation from the juniors and seniors and it is really encouraging to see our One Club coming together so well.

Thanks to Greg Hannon, Matt Clark and Steve Teakel for talking to the group and giving us an insight into their own backgrounds. They also talked about the great pathway they see at the Hawks in bringing our talented juniors through to senior football as One Club.

Thanks as always to Ellen Johnson for her catering and to Boronia Cricket Club for the use of the rooms during the off-season.

Assistant Coaches for Hawks Squad

Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club is pleased to announce the panel of Assistant Coaches to support Craig McKenzie with the 2018 Hawk Squad – our combined U19’s and U17’s teams.

We are particularly excited to welcome Brayden Bowes to the coaching team. The big fella brings some great experience as an assistant coach for Rowville Knights who won the U17A premiership in 2017. Big Ben Robertson, Luke Biddau and Damon Webb have worked with Fletch over the past few seasons and bring a wealth of playing experience to help guide the 17’s and 19’s.

The Club is very grateful for the long term commitment offered by Fletchers and their particular focus on supporting our junior teams. Former Boronia player and junior coach Daniel Bolton is the Director and Auctioneer at Fletchers Mooroolbark. Daniel is a long-time local and has worked in real estate in the area since 2011 and is delighted to offer the premier Fletchers service to Boronia members and supporters. Dan was recently recognised as Fletchers’ 2017 Senior Auctioneer of the Year and “has an excellent track record of exceeding client expectations by offering the highest level of service. Dan has recently been joined by current Boronia champion Jess Bolton, who has left North Melbourne Football Club to take up a position as Property Consultant with Fletchers Mooroolbark.
