We couldn’t be more excited to announce Ella Dempster has signed with Boronia for the 2026 season.
Ella has made a huge impact already on the track, impressing with her skills, strong overhead marking and ability to connect with her new teammates. After previously spending time with Casey in the VFLW and Dandenong Stingrays, Ella has balanced football and basketball commitments over the past few years. We can’t wait to see Ella in brown and gold this season!
We’re thrilled to announce that Maddy Stark has signed with Boronia for the 2026 season.
Maddy is coming off a huge 2025, where she made the EFNL Team of the Year and shared her club Best & Fairest Award. Starky is an athletic forward who knows how to find the goals, kicking 64 majors over the past three seasons, and taking out the Division 3 goal kicking award last year.
We’re excited to watch Maddy roam the wide open space of Tormore in brown and gold this year, and beyond.
We’re thrilled to announce that Tom Gasparroni has recommitted to Boronia Hawks for the 2026 Season.
After an injury interrupted first half of 2025, Tom showed exactly what he’s capable of once he got going, especially in our Final, where he was one of our best players on the day. His impact, work rate and competitiveness gave us a real lift when it mattered most.
Tom is now injury free and tearing up the track and we can’t wait to see what he delivers with a full, uninterrupted pre season behind him.
We’re excited to announce that Abbey Broughan has signed with Boronia for the 2026 season.
Abbey is a key forward with a strong contested mark and has a long history of making life difficult for opposition defenders. Boasting a career tally of 132 goals from 84 games, Abbey led the goalkicking in Division 3 last season with 31, and has been recognised in the EFNL Team of the Year in 2021, and 2024 and 2025.
We can’t wait to see Abbey in brown and gold next season and beyond!
We couldn’t be more excited to announce that Sophie Stark has signed with Boronia for the 2026 season.
Sophie has been recognised with EFNL Team of the Year honours in 2023, 2024 and 2025, back-to-back club Best and Fairests with Coldstream, and capped off last season by claiming Best on Ground in the Division 3 Grand Final, and taking home the Division 3 EFNL League Best & Fairest. Freddy is a tough, hard working left footer who has no problems finding the football.
We couldn’t be more excited to have Sophie in brown and gold this year and beyond.
We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Zoe Lynch to Boronia for the 2026 season.
Zoe joins us from Bayswater where she was named in the EFNL Team of the Year last season. Zoe plays predominantly across the backline, is a strong overheard mark and good ball user, but can play any position across the ground. We can’t wait to have Zoe and her family in brown and gold this season, and beyond.
We couldn’t be more excited to announce our Senior Assistant Coaches for our Premier Women’s side in 2026.
We’re pleased to welcome Steve Brotja to Boronia, after he has spent the last five years with Upwey, the past three as their Senior Coach, where he is also a life member and played over 200 games. Steve previously coached within the Eastern Ranges program where he first connected with our Senior coach Sean Buncle. We can’t wait to have Steve in brown and gold.
Also returning will be Scott Nicholas and Tim Cavanagh. Scott spent seven seasons as our Senior Coach, leading us to a Division 1 Premiership in 2023 before transitioning to Women’s Football Operations while maintaining an Assistant Coach role.
Tim joins us for his fourth season as part of the Women’s program taking on a number of roles across Senior and Development teams following a successful stint at Ferntree Gully where he took the side to a minor Premiership in 2021.
We couldn’t be more thrilled to announce that Josh Silverii and Dean Harris have been appointed as Assistant Coaches for the Boronia Women’s Development side for the 2026 season.
Josh returns after his first season in 2025, where he has already built incredible relationships across the squad, and brings a great balance of fun, care and guidance to the group. Dean joins the Senior program after coaching our Under 18 Girls side in 2025, and we’re excited to add his knowledge and expertise to the ranks in supporting our big numbers of U18s joining the Senior squad next season.
Congratulations to HARRY CHAPMAN for being named in the 2025 Marsh AFL National Academy Squad.
The National Academy is comprised of 50 of the country’s most talented young footballers who have been selected to take part in the high performance program during their Draft year. Each of the boys and girls squads feature 25 players who were born in 2008 and will be eligible for the 2026 Telstra AFL Draft and 2026 Telstra AFLW Draft.
We’re thrilled to announce that Danny Weston has been appointed our Masters Coach for the 2026 season.
Danny is no stranger to coaching at Boronia, with a highly successful tenure within our junior girls pathway. This included coaching our U16 Girls to a Premiership in 2023, many of who will be stepping up into Senior football in 2026. Danny had a long career within the EFNL playing with Vermont and Blackburn, and will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the program next season and can’t wait to get started. Danny will take the reigns from Ray Lacey and Dave O’Reilly who have done a fantastic job coaching our Masters side over the past few years.
