Major Announcement on COVID-19 from EFNL – UPDATED MARCH 16, 2020

With the spread of COVID-19 increasing across Victoria the Eastern Football Netball League has made the decision to IMMEDIATELY SUSPEND all training, practice matches and events across the entire Competition until further notice.
The safety and welfare of our players, volunteers, officials and their families are our number one priority.

We will provide further updates to Club Executives later this week once the following key meetings have taken place: AFL and League CEO meeting Tuesday
and EFNL Board meeting Wednesday night.

Please communicate throughout your clubs and take the necessary action to ensure we as a League and our clubs are not by our actions spreading COVID-19 throughout the community.

EFNL Statement on COVID-19

A Message from the Club Chairman about COVID-19

The Club’s Board of Directors is closely monitoring available information from government sources, AFL Victoria and EFNL in respect of Coronavirus. The Board is guided by recent statements from these official sources, but is also now considering contingency plans should circumstances require changes in planned events, training or practice matches. The Directors are taking the best available advice and will have the health of our members as our first priority in all decisions in the lead up to the start of the football and netball seasons.

All players, members and volunteers should be alert to the risks of COVID-19, but not alarmed. Please take sensible precautions with your own personal care and hygiene. Respect the space of people around you and look after those who may be vulnerable. Bring your own water bottles to training, avoid handshakes, and do not attend the Club if you are unwell.

Please feel free to contact any Board member if you have questions, but we undertake to keep you fully informed as the situation evolves.

Chairman, BHFNC

Boronia Hawks at the Knox Festival

Boronia Hawks have secured a site at the Knox Festival being held at Wally Tew Reserve, Glenfern Rd, Ferntree Gully on Saturday 29th February and Sunday 1st March. It’s an opportunity to showcase our fantastic club to the Knox community and to attract new Junior (boys and girls) and Women’s team players. We will have activities for the kids, with Hawka brand caps and mini stress footballs as giveaways.

If you’re available to help at our stall over that weekend, please add your name to the roster via this Volunteer Link.

Over the two days of the festival, between 10 am and 5 pm, we would like a minimum of three volunteers for each time slot but it would be great to see more. The more people we have at our stall and the more activity we generate, the more interesting it will be to festival attendees.

Fletchers Mooroolbark are back for 2020!

Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club is delighted to welcome back Fletchers Mooroolbark as a GOLD PARTNER for Season 2020.

This the third year of our partnership with Fletchers Mooroolbark. The Club is very grateful for the long term commitment offered by Fletchers and their particular focus on supporting our junior teams.

We are proud to say that the entire rollout of our new jumpers to all junior teams over the past two years was entirely funded by Fletchers. As we expand our program for junior girls in 2020 we will once again see the generosity of Fletchers in real terms as the girls run out in new jumpers.

Please join us all in thanking Daniel Bolton – Fletchers Real Estate, Director & Auctioneer and the team at Fletchers for their tremendous support of the Hawks.

Introducing TD Solutions

Boronia Hawks has engaged with TD Solutions – Sports Administration and held a very successful workshop last week.

TDS has assisted the Club’s Board in the preparation of a “Health Check” which indicated that the Club is in good hands and is well managed.

BUT….. TDS also highlighted the need to share the load and help our volunteers in their efforts to help the Club to prosper and grow. A number of other priorities were identified and the Board and committees are already focused on implementing these initiatives.

Stand by for more exciting announcements and opportunities in the coming weeks! In the meantime, thank you to Terry and the team at TDS!

Boronia Vets say Thank You to Ozito

Last night the Boronia Veterans commenced their pre-season training for the up and coming 2020 season.

Boronia Vets kick start the season with new footballs sponsored by Ozito.

They were in for a treat, as having trained for years with hand me down footballs, which often resembled basketballs, this season they will now be kicking around brand new Sherrins thanks to Ozito Industries.

With the donation of some great power tools, a few of the boys were able to raise some much needed cash to fund the purchase of these balls.

Veterans Coach Greg Joseph with Wayne Preston, Boronia Hawks Vice President.

A big thank you to Ozito Industries for their ongoing support to Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club.

If you interested in playing Veterans footy with Boronia, please contact Greg Joseph (Coach) on 0412 604 249 or Jason Davis (Team Manager) on 0425 749 818?.
