Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club is really excited to be kicking off another pre-season for Boronia Vets. We will have the newly appointed coach Mark “Owie” O’Neill taking the reins for our first session on Wednesday 22 November. (Venue to be confirmed).

Boronia Hawks are very pleased to announce that following the announcement in August that Matt Clark has signed as Senior Coach for 2024, the full coaching panel for the men’s senior team has also recommitted for the coming season. We are grateful to have this strong group of experienced coaches who are able to develop the team as both people and as players. Boronia Hawks are very pleased to announce that the four players who made up the 2023 Leadership Group for the Women’s Development Team have all re-committed for the 2024 season. Please join us all in thanking Darcy Langford, Erin Nicholas, Caity Goldsack and Gen Lyons for their commitment to the Hawks.
After winning the Development Squad Best & Fairest in 2022, Darcy was appointed Captain of the Development Team in 2023. A fierce competitor who now has over 68 games played for the brown and gold, Darcy is excited for a big pre-season and 2024!
Erin has been part of the fabric of the Devlopment Team since joining in 2018, recognised as Players Player (Development Team) in 2022. A leader within the team for the past few years, Erin has now played over 50 games for the Hawks!
Caity joined the Development Squad leadership group for the first time in 2023, highlighting her consistency and work ethic. Caity has played down back and on ball over the past couple of seasons and is looking to take her game to another level in 2024.
Gen has been a key player for the D Squad over the past few seasons, and has continued to develop her skills and knowledge of the game during this time. After getting a taste of Senior football in 2022, Gen stepped up into the role of Vice-Captain for the Development Team in 2023 and we’re excited to see her back in brown and gold next season.
Pre-Xmas Training for our Senior Men’s Squad commences on Monday 20 November at 6:00pm. The program includes a variety of sessions in the run-up to the Xmas / New Year break.
Pre-Season Training for our Senior Women and Masters will kick off next Tuesday 21st November at Boronia Heights Primary School. Training will be Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6pm to 7:30pm. We’ll be doing four weeks of training before we break for Christmas with a focus of building a base of skills, fitness and game sense before a big 2024 season!

We have been working Jayden & Damon hard behind the scenes in developing our new look which was on full display at all our Grand Final triumphs. How good was it to look back at the photos and seeing the proud Hawka faithful all in their new polos, hoodies, beanies and scarfs! It really was an imposing sight and was a showcase of the enormous support in the crowds.
