NATIONAL ACADEMY | HARRY CHAPMAN

Congratulations to HARRY CHAPMAN for being named in the 2025 Marsh AFL National Academy Squad.

The National Academy is comprised of 50 of the country’s most talented young footballers who have been selected to take part in the high performance program during their Draft year. Each of the boys and girls squads feature 25 players who were born in 2008 and will be eligible for the 2026 Telstra AFL Draft and 2026 Telstra AFLW Draft.


NEW MASTERS COACH | DANNY WESTON

We’re thrilled to announce that Danny Weston has been appointed our Masters Coach for the 2026 season.

Danny is no stranger to coaching at Boronia, with a highly successful tenure within our junior girls pathway. This included coaching our U16 Girls to a Premiership in 2023, many of who will be stepping up into Senior football in 2026. Danny had a long career within the EFNL playing with Vermont and Blackburn, and will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the program next season and can’t wait to get started. Danny will take the reigns from Ray Lacey and Dave O’Reilly who have done a fantastic job coaching our Masters side over the past few years.


WELCOME TO BORONIA | BLAIR HUDSON

We’re thrilled to welcome Blair Hudson to the Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club for the 2026 season!

Blair brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the Hawks, having spent nine seasons at Norwood, where he played over 100 senior games in Premier Division. A respected figure around the club, Blair was part of Norwood’s leadership group and served as vice-captain, twice finishing top five in the Best & Fairest.

In 2024, Blair joined Heathmont and made an immediate impact, finishing the season as the club’s leading goal kicker.

We’re excited to see Blair in brown and gold, bringing his strong work ethic, footy smarts, and proven leadership to the Hawks.

COACHING ANNOUNCEMENT | DANNY FOTINATOS

Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Danny Fotinatos as our new Men’s Development Coach for the 2026 season.

Danny joins the Club from the Whitehorse Pioneers Football Club, where he has captained their Development Team for the past four seasons. During his time at Whitehorse, Danny established himself as a respected leader, known for his professionalism, composure, and ability to inspire those around him.

Danny brings with him fresh perspectives and valuable insights from a club that has been on the rise in recent years. His leadership experience and deep understanding of the game will make him an outstanding addition to our Men’s coaching group.

Throughout the recruitment process, Danny impressed with his emphasis on developing strong relationships with players. He has a proven record of leading teams in a way that balances high performance with personal growth, and he understands the importance of fostering a positive, accountable, and connected team culture.

Danny’s coaching philosophy is grounded in setting clear standards, building accountability, and uniting players around a shared vision for success. He values clear, consistent, and respectful communication, ensuring that players understand their roles, receive constructive feedback, and feel confident to ask questions.

His adaptable communication style — whether working with players, fellow coaches, parents, or community members — enables him to build trust and rapport across all levels of the club.

The Boronia Hawks FNC is excited to welcome Danny and his partner Steph to the Hawka Nest and we look forward to the energy, leadership, and passion he will bring to our club.

We’re confident that Danny will play an integral role in continuing to strengthen our Men’s football program and in shaping the next generation of Hawks.

PLAYER ANNOUNCEMENT | COREY PRESTON JOINS BORONIA

We’re excited to announce that Corey ‘CJ’ Preston will be joining the Boronia Hawks Football Club for the 2026 season.

CJ brings proven experience and leadership, having played VFL football with both Williamstown and the Box Hill Hawks, where he’s currently part of the club’s leadership group.

Before that, CJ starred at East Ringwood, where his outstanding 2024 season earned him selection in the EFNL Premier Division Team of the Year, a reflection of his consistency, skill, and impact at the top level of community football.

A composed and versatile utility, CJ is known for his clean ball use, footy smarts, and ability to influence games through the midfield and forward of centre.

At just 22, CJ adds leadership, class, and genuine excitement to our senior program as we continue to build towards success in Division 1.


RE-SIGNED FOR 2026 | KELSIE TERNES

We couldn’t be more excited to announce that Kelsie Ternes has re-signed with Boronia for the 2026 season.

Kelsie joined us in 2025 in what turned out to be an exciting year for the young key forward. Kelsie debuted for North Melbourne in the VFLW and went on to play eight games with the VFLW Premiers. In her three matches with Boronia, Kelsie starred, kicking 4, 5 and 4 in her three matches and was awarded the ANZAC Day Medal in our Round 2 win over reigning premiers South Croydon. We’re excited to see Kelsie take her game to a new level next season.

RE-SIGNED FOR 2026 | CHARITY POE

We’re thrilled to announce that Charity Poe has re-signed with Boronia for the 2026.

Charity will transition out of our Under 18 Girls side into the Senior squad, after already playing 8 Senior games across the last two years. In her first two years of football Charity has come first or runner up in the Best & Fairest and is a great teammate and an emerging leader.

We couldn’t be more excited to have Chaz continue her development with Boronia in 2026 and beyond.


WELCOME TO BORONIA | HARRISON KIMMIT

We’re thrilled to welcome Harrison Kimmitt to the Boronia Hawks for the 2026 season!

“Kimmo” joins us from Old Camberwell (VAFA), where he captained the Under 19s in 2023 and has finished top six in the Development Team Best & Fairest for the past two seasons. A player known for his silky skills, leadership, and drive to keep improving, Harrison is eager to learn, grow, and take his game to the next level in the brown and gold.

He also continues a proud family connection as the son of former Hawks great and life member Robert “Bomma” Kimmitt.

RE-SIGNED FOR 2026 | EMILY CAHILL

We couldn’t be more excited to announce that Emily Cahill has re-signed with Boronia for the 2026 season.

Emily has now played 65 games for the Hawks, and was part of the 2023 Senior Premiership side. Emily can play a number of roles, across the middle or half back and we’re excited for a big 2026 in brown and gold next season!
