Thanks to the EFNL NAB Auskick coaches who ran the Footy 4 Fun free session at Boronia Heights Primary School. All the children had fun and are looking forward to next week.
Thanks to our Platinum Sponsor Boronia McDonalds for supporting our program at Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club – Junior. Thanks also to our Auskick Head Coach Matt Buzinskas, Auskick Administrator Karena Buzinskas and Coach Chelsea Dunkinson for assisting tonight.
Boronia Hawks are very proud to confirm the members of our Boronia Auskick Centre Team for 2023.

Boronia Hawks are delighted to announce that MATT BUZINSKAS will be the Head Coach for Boronia Auskick Centre in 2023.
Buzz is one of our best performed footballers of recent times, with 234 games and over 200 goals for the club. A former Boronia junior, Buzz was appointed senior co-captain in 2015. He retired in 2021 but is now very keen to give back to the club as his own children start their football journey. Please join us all in saying welcome back to Buzz, Karena and family.

Boronia Hawks is a great club for youngsters to learn and play footy in a supportive, family environment. Auskick is perfect for developing skills and confidence and we cater for all abilities in our junior footy for girls and boys.

Our centre is accredited as an Access All Abilities or AAA centre because of the special care and environment provided by Sam Dunkinson and her team. The implementation of our Sensory Space at Boronia Auskick has been a significant reason for this recognition. Sam uses the space to assist the kids who might get a little overwhelmed by everything and just need a quiet spot for a while.
We love having Parker at Auskick and are very proud that he is able to join in the footy fun.
Uniforms and merchandise will be on sale! Zero membership fees in 2021!
The Club’s Board of Directors has been meeting regularly via Zoom in the last few months to manage the impact of Covid-19 on the Club’s operations. Following the recent announcements from the the Victorian Government, AFL Victoria and EFNL, we had an expanded Board meeting last night with representatives from our senior and junior football, netball, veterans and Auskick sections. Thanks to Ash Johnston, Candyce Wright, Kat McMahon, Sam Dunkinson and Wayne Preston for their important contributions to our preparations.
Although the Club is subject to the release of guidelines and protocols from the governing bodies, we are able to start planning for the eventual resumption of managed training sessions in groups of ten (plus a coach or manager). We are developing our own set of training guidelines so all players and coaches will fully understand their ongoing obligations to personal hygiene and social distancing. We will be ready when the time comes.
The most pleasing aspect of the meeting was to hear of the enthusiastic engagement by our senior playing groups over the last two months. Our senior mens and women’s footballers are training in isolation, but are absolutely exceeding expectations as they build their fitness. Our players and coaches are to be congratulated for their team spirit, support for each other, and dedication to the game and the Club.
We will be in touch regularly, so please keep your eye out for updates on our website and Facebook pages and groups. “Hawka Talk” will continue every Wednesday night at 7:00pm on Facebook for the foreseeable future. Please tune in!
Please take care of yourselves, family and friends. Do the right thing and we will all be able to come together again as a Club.
GO HAWKA!!!
Scott Nicholas, Chairman, Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club Inc.
Great news for our Boronia Auskick Centre! We have recently been advised that we have earned recognition as a AAA Auskick Centre.
The Access All Abilities (AAA) NAB AFL Auskick program is designed to ensure that Auskick Centres are as inclusive as possible and that children of All Abilities have access to participate in the great game of AFL football.
The implementation of our Sensory Space at Boronia Auskick has been a significant reason for this recognition.
Sam Dunkinson, our Auskick Co-ordinator, uses the space to assist the kids who might get a little overwhelmed by everything and just need a quiet spot for a while. The Club has been supported in this initiative through the generosity of our great supporter Sam Dib and Lipari Pizza Pasta.
Enquiries regarding Boronia Auskick may be directed to Samantha Dunkinson on 0419 502 633.
