THANK YOU TO KAT McMAHON

Kat McMahon stepped down as Chair of the Club’s Board of Directors at the recent AGM. We all wish to express our thanks to Kat for the important work she helped to deliver for the club.

Kat McMahon

Kat’s expertise was essential in the roll-out of our Square project including the IT hardware, the new online store and the associated upgrade of our comm’s network at Tormore with Your Local Telecom. Kat also played a key role in the review of our club branding and the resultant partnership with Your Clubroom to deliver our very successful new range of club apparel and merchandise.

Though she has retired from netball and footy with the Hawka, Kat played an important support role in the Women’s Senior Team as the Premiership Statistician! She rounded off the season by managing the very successful hosting of the Division 1 Men’s Finals Series at Tormore.

Please join us all in thanking Kat for her contribution to the club.

PREMIERSHIP CUPS ON TOUR | Brighton Gas

Craig Brockley! What more can we say about this great man that hasn’t already been said! A two-time premiership coach, a mentor to all players and just a ripping bloke!

Craig owns and operates Brighton Gas who has been sponsoring our club since 2018. Although you see the Brighton Gas logo on our merch and around the club, there is a lot more to Craig’s sponsorship that people don’t see.

Thanks Brocky for your generosity and commitment to the club over the past 6 years! Can’t wait to see you on the other side of the fence watching games next year.

PREMIERSHIP CUPS ON TOUR | Four Lanes Coffee Company

Our favourite sponsor on the mornings of home games! Four Lanes Coffee is owned and operated by former player Andy Le Marca and provides all our members and visitors quality coffee at every home game for both the seniors and juniors.

Thanks Andy and team for your support in 2023!

RECOMMITTED FOR 2024 | SLATER and QUIRK

Boronia Hawks are very pleased to announce the recommitment of two of the break out players from the 2023 Premiership season. Please congratulate Rach and Quirky.

Rachael Slater is one of the EFNL’s best young talents and almost capped off the perfect season in 2023 finishing with Blue Ribbon Medal in the Grand Final, a Premiership medallion, a second consecutive Ellen Johnson Medal and finishing second in the league Best & Fairest. Rachael is powerful, aggressive and only getting better and we can’t wait to see where she takes her footy in 2024!

Rach Quirk’s combination of athleticism, fierce attack on the ball and willingness to do all the 1%’s to make the team better added a huge amount to the squad in 2023. Finishing third in the league Best & Fairest and named Ruck in the Team of the Year, Quirky will only keep getting better!

RECOMMITTED FOR 2024 | WATSON, GOTTLIEBSEN & GLARE

Boronia Hawks are very happy to announce the recommitment of three of our team leaders from the 2023 Premiership season for the upcoming 2024 season. Please congratulate Bree, Ali and April.

Boronia’s inaugural Senior Premiership Captain is a smart, reliable defender with great skills and leadership who generates a lot of our attack from defence. Bree is already putting in a big pre-season ready to build on the success of last season, in 2024!

Our hard running Centre Half Back took a big leap in 2023 developing her skills and fitness spending more time in the midfield and expanding her game. Ali has been named in the Team of the Year in 2022 (Premier) and 2023 (Division 1) and still getting better!

April had her best season in brown and gold in 2023 on the back of a HUGE pre-season. Her ability to run all day, matched with size and strength allowed her to play big roles on some of the competitions best forwards.

PREMIERSHIP CUPS ON TOUR | Ritchies IGA Ringwood East

For the past few years Pauls IGA Ringwood East has been a GOLD sponsor of our club providing exceptional service (and product) to our bar. As you can imagine that during September while hosting finals, we put these guys to the test ….and they never let us down!

This month they transitioned ownership to Ritchies and after some discussions we are rapt to announce that our sponsorship partnership will continue for the upcoming 2024 season!

Thanks again Peter and the team at Ritchies IGA Ringwood East for your ongoing support of our club. We also think the ‘Moet’ is a perfect pairing for our Premiership Cups!

PREMIERSHIP CUPS ON TOUR | Mary Doyle MP

Introducing our newest sponsor for the 2024 season – Mary Doyle – Federal Member for Aston!

Mary has been a long-time supporter of our club and as she settles into her new role it was time to make it official by becoming a BRONZE sponsor!

It’s a great time to support the Hawks having just won two senior and two junior premierships so it was perfect timing to share with Mary our success and grab a photo.

Welcome aboard Mary and we look forward in seeing you down at the club as we strive for further success in 2024 …. plus commence the building of our new clubroom which is heavily funded by the Federal Government!

COACHING ANNOUNCEMENTS | SENIOR WOMEN’S FOOTBALL

Boronia Hawks are excited to announce the appointment of Candyce Harris and Jordan Granland as Co-Coaches of the Boronia Women’s Development Team for the 2024 season.

Candyce has been a part of the club’s women’s program since 2018, initially as a player before transitioning into coaching, now entering her fourth season coaching within the Development Squad. Candyce brings to the squad a passion and commitment for women’s sport and will continue to give players a welcoming and supportive environment for their football.

Elevated into the position of co-coach is Jordan Granland, who will continue to bring a wealth of football knowledge and coaching experience to the Development Squad after initially joining as an Assistant Coach in 2023. Jordy is a former senior player with Boronia and has coached seven years of junior football at Boronia and other clubs including four Grand Final appearances!

PREMIERSHIP CUPS ON TOUR | Stonewood Paving & Landscaping

Another one of own giving back to the club. Darran Hansby is a current Men’s Veterans player who also happens to run and own Stonewood Paving & Landscaping. A BRONZE sponsor who also has been a co-sponsor of our Stubby Holders for the past few years.

He was a hard man to catch but we finally cornered him down at Tormore between jobs to share with him our Premiership success and grab a photo.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is 2023-Cups_Stonewood-981x1024.jpeg

Stonewood Paving & Landscaping is a local business who pride themselves in transforming front & backyards into something special. Darran comes highly recommended from our members and sponsors who have used his services. We encourage you to give him a call if you are thinking about getting your yard landscaped for the summer.

Thanks Darran for your ongoing support!

PREMIERSHIP CUPS ON TOUR | Knox Leisureworks

As the tour of the cups continued, we dropped in to see Danny who is the Centre Manager for Knox Leisureworks. Danny and his team have been a long-time supporter of our club and being that they are just around the corner from Tormore it makes sense that we have a partnership and support each other as much as possible.

Knox Leisureworks offers you a range of programs and facilities for your health, fitness and leisure needs. Facilities include our indoor and outdoor swimming pools and waterslide, 24/7 fitness and gym, cafe and rooms for hire.
