MEN’S PRACTICE MATCHES v SEAFORD

Many thanks to Seaford Football Netball Club for hosting us once again for the third year. Always a very good match up and played in good spirit. Thanks to Wayne Preston and Samantha Dunkinson for today’s updates.

Full time was called early after an injury to a Seaford player. Final scores Boronia 6.10 46 to Seaford 2.1 13. The boys looked good in hot windy conditions. Luke Hannon recorded his first win as coach, stepping in for Matt Clark.

In what was an even performance, the top four were Mitch Mellis, Ryan White, Jarrod Lake and Jess Bolton. All the new recruits played really well also.

Although a bit short on numbers on the day, Boronia’s Development Team won 7.2 44 v Seaford 2.4 16.

We’re building our Masters Team!

We’re looking for women 35 and over who are keen to join our squad and play on a fortnightly basis, no previous experience playing footy necessary.

Boronia Hawks are delighted to announce that Stacey Peril has been reappointed as Masters Coach for the 2024 season. Stacey was our inaugural coach in 2023 and lead the team through their first season as the player numbers grew along with the team development and enjoyment. Stacey has played with Boronia since 2018 and in 2023 she played her 50th game and also represented Vic Country in Masters Football. She has been actively involved with the Hawks as a junior mum, committee member, junior coach, senior player and now continues as Masters Coach.

Our friendly and welcoming women’s squad train as one group every Tuesday and Thursday at Boronia Heights Primary School from 6:00pm – 7:30pm. Training will move to Mondays and Wednesdays when the season begins.

If you or someone you know would like any more information, please reach out to Candyce Wright on 0431 731 671.

Unfortunately after a super long day and lots of hard play and determination they lost to the Young Melbourne Gaelic Team in the Grand Final 6 – 24
