ANNOUNCEMENT | LUKE HANNON RE-SIGNS

We’re pumped to announce that Luke Hannon has recommitted to the Boronia Hawks for the 2026 season! Our Senior Vice-Captain and Playing Assistant Coach Luke is the ultimate club man. Who continues to be a massive influence both on and off the field.

In 2025, he’s taken charge of our Under 19s as Head Coach, working closely with Josh Begley and Jayden Collins to rebuild our junior pathway. His leadership, care, and footy IQ are already having a huge impact on the next generation of Hawks.

On the field, Luke’s resume speaks for itself:

  • 3 × Senior Premiership Player – 2018, 2023, 2024
  • Blue Ribbon Medal – Best on Ground in the 2018 Grand Final
  • 2× Bob Henry Medallist – Boronia Senior Best & Fairest (2017, 2018)

We’re absolutely thrilled to announce that Jake Mellis has re-signed with the Boronia Hawks for the 2026 season!

Jake’s journey through the brown and gold has been nothing short of outstanding. A true club man who has delivered time and time again.

2× Premiership Player – 2018 Under-19s Premiership (Vice-Captain) – 2023 Senior Premiership Individual Honours – David Murrihy Medal – U19 Best & Fairest (2018) – U15 Best & Fairest (2015). Jake’s consistency, football smarts, and selfless team-first approach make him an invaluable part of our senior group. Whether shutting down an opponent or stepping up in big moments, Jake leads by example.

MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT | JOSH BEGLEY RE-SIGNS

We’re thrilled to confirm that Josh Begley has re-signed with the Boronia Hawks through to the end of 2027.

Since joining the club in 2023, Begs has been a game changer a two-time premiership player, leading goalkicker, EFNL Team of the Year member, and a key figure in our rise to Division 1. But it’s not just what he does on the field. Josh has played a big role off it this season, stepping up as a mentor and helping coach our Under 19s. His leadership, professionalism, and support for our young players has been outstanding. Josh’s care for the club and this group has been clear from day one and his commitment to two more years is a reflection of the belief he has in where we’re heading. We couldn’t be more excited to have him locked in as we take on the next chapter together.

FRANK CARROLL TO UNFURL THE 2024 PREMIERSHIP FLAG

The Board of the BHFNC is delighted to bestow the honour of unfurling our 2024 Senior Men’s Premiership Flag to our much-loved Life Member, Frank Carroll. 


Frank first arrived at the club as the father of premiership player and former Bob Henry Medallist David ‘Shadow’ Carroll, and soon transitioned into a committee member, long-term sponsor, and then President of our Club.

Upcoming practice matches, starting with the young guns this Friday night, Senior Men on Saturday at Tormore. Food and drinks will be available at the ground. Senior Women are away at Karingal on Sunday.

We couldn’t be happier to announce the line up of outstanding Hawka people who have put up their hands to guide our Boronia Auskick Program for the coming season. Our Auskick Co-ordinator will once again be SAMANTHA DUNKINSON. We are so fortunate to have such an absolutely passionate advocate for all things Auskick and all things Boronia Hawks. Sammi has now assembled a dream team to assist her on and off field, so please join us in congratulating them all and thanking them for giving something back to club!


HAWKS SELECTED FOR 2025 EASTERN RANGES

Boronia Hawks is very excited to see eight of our young players selected in the final 2025 squads for Eastern Ranges. Although a number of the players have only just joined our club, we are very pleased to congratulate them all on their junior footy careers to date and we wish them the very best for the year ahead with both Ranges and with Boronia. We also are thinking of those players who unfortunately missed selection this time around and encourage them to keep at it for future opportunities. GO HAWKA!!!
