ASSISTANT COACHES ANNOUNCED FOR WOMEN’S SQUAD

Boronia Hawks FNC is very proud to announce the appointment of four great Boronia people as Assistant Coaches for the 2025 Women’s Football Season.

We’re thrilled to announce that Scott Nicholas will continue with our squad as Senior Assistant Coach in 2025. Scott has been integral in developing the squad since 2018, and coached our Senior Women to the Division 1 Premiership in 2023. Scott will work closely with our new Head Coach Sean Buncle, with a focus on leadership and culture and the broader women’s program.

Assistant Coach (Senior – Forwards) We’re thrilled to have Nicole Guy back on board in 2025 as an Assistant Coach. Working with our Senior forwardline for the past two seasons, Nicole adds a wealth of knowledge, understanding of the game and builds incredible, supportive and fun relationships with the playing group.

Assistant Coach (Senior – Backs). We couldn’t be more excited to announce Bree Watson as one of our Assistant Coaches for 2025. Bree is a natural leader who has begun her Coach Development as Captain of the Senior squad, and has naturally played the role of guiding and supporting our backs over the last few years. Bree will continue her learning taking on more responsibility with the backs this season.

Development Women Assistant Coach – We couldn’t be more excited to announce Tim Cavanagh as Assistant Coach for our Development side in 2025. Tim is highly experienced in women’s football, much loved amongst our playing group and builds incredible relationships with our playing group. Formerly Senior Assistant Coach and Senior runner, Tim moves into a new role this season and is excited to be working with some of our new and developing players.

BACK TO BORONIA | JAKE GODWIN

Boronia Hawks FNC is excited to announce that JAKE GODWIN is #backtoboronia and has signed to play again in 2025, which will be his seventh senior season with the Hawks.

Jake is “one club” player since Under 9’s in 2007, although he moved up to Queensland and played the last three seasons for Morningside in the QAFL. This culminated in the 2024 Premiership, with Jake kicking three goals in the Grand Final. Jake played representative football with the EFNL U15’s, before playing at both Eastern Ranges and Box Hill Hawks. He played in the 2018 Senior Premiership side with Boronia. Jake is very capable either forward or back and will be a very valuable acquisition as we move in to Division 1.

Tyler joined the Hawks in 2015 for Under 17’s and played a lot of great footy through Under 19’s. He captained the 19’s in 2017 and was called up for 4 games with Eastern Ranges that year. He made his senior debut in 2018 played all 22 games in the firsts and added the 2018 Premiership to his CV. Tyler has been travelling over recent years but we can all look forward to him bringing another element to the Hawks in 2025 as a mobile big man. Please welcome him back to the club.

Meet the New Masters Coaches at Boronia Hawks

Boronia Hawks FNC is delighted to announce that taking the reins on another season for our Masters side will be Ray Lacey and Dave O’Reilly. These two have been a huge part of Boronia’s programs for women and girls since its inception in 2018.

Ray was one our inaugural Senior Women’s coaches, coaching the Seniors for three seasons before becoming our inaugural Development coach in 2021. His legacy at Boronia continues to grow off field, adding to his EFNL and Club life memberships, three Bob Henry medals, two Senior Premierships and club record for games played!

Dave continues in the role after supporting Stacey Peril in our first Masters season in 2023. Dave has played a key role in supporting the squad on game day and at training, assisting in the development of many of our players who are new to the game. Dave has previously coached some of our junior girls teams as well, highlighting his contribution to the program.

We’re excited to have Ray and Dave at the helm for our Masters team, now in its third season! The Squad is growing and still looking for more players for the 2025 season! If you’re interested in getting involved please contact the club on boronia@efnl.org.au.
