Milestone Games for Boronia Hawks

Congratulations to Jess Bolton who will play his 150th Senior Game for @boroniahawks on Saturday.

Jess is a true champion of the Club and two-time Bob Henry Medallist. He was originally a Boronia Junior but left for East Burwood to play 74 games between 2005 and 2007 including 20 games in Division 1 Seniors. Bolts came back to Boronia in 2009 to make his senior debut for the Hawka. He also played 19 VFL games for Casey Scorpions / Demons between 2009 and 2012 before committing 100% to Boronia in 2013.

Jess is one of our most decorated players of any era in the Club’s history. His record includes: Boronia U15’s B&F in 2003; Bob Henry Medallist for Senior Best & Fairest in 2012 and 2014; 2013 and 2017 Senior Runners Up B&F; Senior Captain in 2014; 2016 Seniors Best Team Player; 100th Game Medal in 2015; EFL Division 3 Team of the Year in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016 & 2017. U19’s Assistant Coach 2016-17. Please join us all is congratulating Jess on his fantastic career achievement of 150 senior games for the Hawks.

Congratulations to Nathan Allen who played his 150th Senior Game for @boroniahawks back in Round 8. (Explanation and apology below).

Nathan, with twin brother Nick started with Boronia Auskick in 1997 before moving on to Boronia Juniors for Under 10’s. He played 100 junior games between 2000 and 2006 and captained the team to finals twice. He had is U18’s debut in 2006 while captain of our Under 16A’s, followed by his senior debut in 2008. Nathan won the EFL’s medal as U18’s Best & Fairest in Division 3 in 2008. He was named Senior Vice – Captain in 2014 and Senior Co-Captain in 2015.

Nate’s career has been dogged by several major injuries which prevented him from playing many more games for the Hawks. A noted mud lark, Nater is never happier than when the going is at it’s toughest and he can give his all for the Hawka. He is also the only bloke with a legitimate Club blazer! Please join us all is congratulating Nathan on his fantastic career achievement of 150 senior games for the Hawks.

Now, please let me explain: there was a spreadsheet error back in 2016 which meant that Nater’s three finals that year were not included in his game total. This was only discovered recently when checking the games tally for Andy Phillips. So Nathan actually plays his 153rd senior game on Saturday. Apologies to Nathan and his family for this unfortunate miscalculation.

Andy Phillips will play his 50th Senior Game for @boroniahawks on Saturday. He was recruited from Boronia Juniors in 2014 where he played over 100 games. He debuted in the Under 19’s in 2014 and then made his senior debut in in that same year, playing 4 games in the firsts. Andy did not play in 2017 due to injury and study commitments, but has bounced back in 2018 to burn off the opposition on the wing once again. Well done Andy!
