What a Great Night for Boronia Auskick!
Boronia Auskick has just been launched with a new time and place on Friday nights at Tormore Reserve and was an overwhelming success! We welcomed around 80 boys and girls who were all bursting to get out and have a kick under lights. The whole Boronia Hawks community extends a warm welcome to all new families who have joined us through their participation at Auskick. We really look forward to being part of the footy experience for your children.
Our Auskick Co-ordinator Luke Biddau probably got more than he bargained for with the bumper crowd, but that just reflects the hard work he has put in with his series of footy clinics at local schools. Luke had a team of helpers who worked with the kids to help them learn their footy skills. We were particularly pleased to see a number of our boys from the Under 17’s passing on their tips to the youngsters.
Boronia Hawks would like to acknowledge the generous support of Knox City Council’s Community Development Fund which assisted with the provision of materials and equipment for our Auskick and Holiday Clinic Programs during 2017/2018.
Club legend Ellen Johnson was there in the canteen and Rachel Odgers took some great photos to capture the atmosphere! Here are some of the great photographs from our first night.

Boronia Hawks at the Knox Festival on Saturday 3 March
Boronia Hawks have been lucky enough to secure a stall at the Knox Festival this coming weekend on Saturday 3 March from 10:00am to 1:00pm. This is a great opportunity to get the Club out there amongst the community and attract some new boys and girls to come on down and play footy with the Hawks.
We will have a handball target and Hawka hats and beanies to give away. We will also have flyers with information about the Club and our Boronia Auskick Centre.
If anyone is available to come down and help sometime during this session, your assistance would be greatly appreciated! Please contact Ellisa Schmidtke on 0417 593 884 who will be happy to provide you with the relevant information. Otherwise, please pop in and say hello!
Boronia Auskick: Friday Night Fun!
New Boronia Auskick Co-ordinator
Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club is very pleased to announce that Luke Biddau has been appointed to the role of Auskick Co-ordinator for 2018. Luke will lead Boronia Auskick Centre to a new era as it moves to Friday nights at Tormore Reserve for the 2018 season. He will also play a very active role in implementing a series of footy clinics at local schools to open up the opportunities for boys and girls to learn their footy with the Hawks.
Luke is actually a former Auskicker himself, developing his skills up at Chandler Park before moving on to Boronia Juniors. After a stint in the hills with Olinda-Ferny Creek, Bidds returned to Tormore Reserve as a senior player in 2013. Known as a dangerous forward, Luke has kicked 42 goals over the last few seasons, which would have been many more except for the curse of nagging injuries.
Luke is a great match-up for the role of the Club’s Auskick Co-ordinator given his working background with Knox Leisureworks and as a youth leader at summer camps in the U.S.A. Bidds has also been an assistant coach with Boronia Juniors in recent seasons, working closely with Craig “Fletch” McKenzie. In 2018, Luke is once again working hard from the sidelines as Assistant Coach for the Boronia U17’s.
Please join us in congratulating Luke on his appointment that will lead to an exciting new phase for Boronia Auskick and will underpin the successful footy pathways with Boronia Hawks.
