WELCOME TO THE HAWKS | OLLIE BURGESS

Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club is very pleased to welcome Ollie Burgess for 2024.

Ollie will be well known to many supporters as the son of Chris Burgess, one of the greats from the Hawks’ 2000 Division 2 Premiership. Ollie joins the club from South Belgrave Under 19’s after playing his junior football with Lysterfield. We all look forward to seeing Ollie providing plenty of run around the ground and continuing the Burgo story at the Hawka. Please get around him.

We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Cleo Smith to Boronia in 2024.

Dean Grice is Back to Boronia

Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club are very happy and excited to announce to all our supporters that DEAN GRICE has committed to the Club for the 2023 season.  We are also delighted to let you all know  that Dean will wear his father’s number 13 on his back in 2023.

Dean is a six-time winner of the Bob Henry Medal for senior Best & Fairest at Boronia. He also won four League B&F medals in seniors and one in the Colts. He was named six times in the EFNL Team of the Year. Dean has played a total of 150 senior games for Boronia and kicked 169 goals after a strong junior career for the Hawks with more B&F medals. Dean played senior VFL football with Port Melbourne in 2012 until a serious knee injury in his eighth game.

The Grice family needs no introduction to long time supporters of Boronia. Dean’s dad, Mark, was a stalwart player with the club during the late 70’s and early 80’s and went on to be senior Team Manager for several years when Dean was at his peak. Mark tragically passed away in November 2022.  Dean’s mum, Jan, has been a much loved and valued volunteer at the club for many, many years.

Jan and Mark Grice

Following Mark’s passing, Dean returned to the club in January of this year. He hasn’t missed a session and is keen to continue his legacy at the club. We ask all players and supporters to welcome him back to the club he loves, and to give Dean and Jan all our love and support for the coming season.
