CHARLIE LAVENDER

Everyone at Boronia Hawks sends their very best wishes to Charlie Lavender and his family after Sunday’s injury.

The club is so grateful for the care and attention that Charlie received from our trainers, (Donna, Phil and Kate) and those from Mitcham, who treated Charlie with all their training and skills. A particular shout out to Damon Fairchild who immediately recognised the serious nature of the injury and ensured that Charlie was not at risk from swallowing his mouth guard or tongue.

Our players showed their concern for Charlie and ran to support him as he was carried from the ground. An ambulance was in attendance soon after and they were fantastic in looking after him.

A heartfelt thank you to all who played a role today in caring for one of our own. We also send our best wishes to Matt Barkas, who also ended up in hospital with an ankle injury.

We are all right behind you both.
