Luke had a great junior career with the Hawks, before playing a bit of senior footy with UFTG. He was back to Boronia in 2023 and slotted nicely into the backline, resulting in a shiny premiership medal around his neck! There is no player more loyal to the club than Nathan Allen, who started in Boronia Auskick in 1997, before moving on to Boronia Juniors in 2000. 24 years and 300 odd games later, he has a hard earned reputation for playing good strong footy and for overcoming adversity with injury and illness. He has two Reserves flags to his credit; he has captained Seniors, Reserves and Juniors; he has won league B&F’s in 18’s and Reserves; he has served on committee and is a regular and reliable volunteer. Most importantly, he has the respect of everyone at the club.
BHFNC would like to invite all past premiership players of the past 15 years back to the club on the day of our Senior Men’s unfurling of their 2023 Premiership Flag.
Every player who has played in a premiership wearing our Brown and Gold jumper has indeed left a legacy worthy of celebrating once again! Lachie McKernan, our 2018 Senior Men’s Premiership Captain has the duty of unfurling our 2023 flag.
Please get down to the Hawka and support him on this auspicious occasion. The club will be putting on some finger food in the rooms from 1:00pm to 2:00 pm and then we all head outside for the unfurling of the flag.

Luke joined the club in 2017 after an outstanding junior career in both football and basketball. A former Eastern Ranges premiership player, captain and B&F winner, Luke has also had a similar impact at Boronia. A senior premiership player in 2018 and 2023; twice Bob Henry Medalist; and current vice captain and assistant coach. That’s a huge CV for a great player and club person.

One of three Mellis boys to play for Boronia, the talented offspring of Cam and Cath. Mitch is without doubt one the finest junior players in our Club’s history. He had an excellent career with Eastern Ranges, playing 33 games from 2017 to 2019. Mitch won the Pennington Medal for Ranges B&F in 2018. He won selection in the 2019 NAB League Team of the Year and gained third place in the 2019 Morrish Medal for the NAB League B&F. This resulted in his recruitment to Williamstown before returning to the Hawks in 2021. A 2023 premiership player and winner of the EFNL B&F, Mitch brings speed, endurance, class, and ferocity to every contest.
