New Head Coach for Boronia Auskick Centre!

Boronia Hawks are delighted to announce that MATT BUZINSKAS will be the Head Coach for Boronia Auskick Centre in 2023.

Buzz is one of our best performed footballers of recent times, with 234 games and over 200 goals for the club. A former Boronia junior, Buzz was appointed senior co-captain in 2015. He retired in 2021 but is now very keen to give back to the club as his own children start their football journey. Please join us all in saying welcome back to Buzz, Karena and family.

Playing Assistant Coach

Boronia Hawks are very pleased to announce that LUKE HANNON has been appointed as Playing Assistant Coach for the 2023 season.

This is Luke’s first step in to coaching ranks, following in the footsteps of his father, Greg Hannon, who is a former senior coach of Boronia. Luke has had an outstanding playing career and will bring that to the table as a proven on-field leader. His CV speaks for itself.

An Eighth Season for Greg Joseph

Boronia Hawks are very pleased to announce that GREG JOSEPH has been appointed as Veterans Coach for the 2023 season.

Joey, also known as “Lou” or “Super Coach, is now into his eighth year as coach of Boronia Vets after joining the Club in 2016.  He had a strong playing career at Mitcham and brings a truckload of experience to the role, along with the magic touch required to lead a team of seasoned warriors hungry for success.

Brock is back for 2023.

Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club is very proud to announce that CRAIG BROCKLEY will be coaching our Men’s Development Squad in 2023, his sixth year in this role.

Like Matt Clark, Brock has earned the absolute respect of all players and supporters in the club and we are very fortunate to have coaches of this calibre leading our teams. Please join us all in thanking Craig and congratulating him on his reappointment. 

Women’s Football Announcement

Boronia Hawks are excited to announce our expanded Football Department for the 2022 season!

Following on from the announcement that Scott Nicholas, Candyce Wright, Ray Lacey and Lachie Watson are back on board, we’re thrilled to welcome some new and familiar faces to the team.

KAREN LITTLE will take over from Nathan Allen in the role of Football Operations Manager! Karen will bring a great understanding and knowledge of our squad as a player, trainer and administrator and will help take our program to another level through operational and strategic support and initiatives!

BRAD SLATER will join the coaching team as a Senior Assistant Coach. Brad played over 200 games at Mitcham in Division 1 before an extensive coaching career, most recently with St. Simons and Rowville Knights where he coached Under 15, Under 16 and Under 18 girls from 2016-2020.

DANA TAMOS will join us over pre-season as Strength & Conditioning Coach. Dana will prescribe a 16 week training program available to all of our players (more info to come), support the coaches with S & C planning and attend training once a month over pre-season! Dana has previously worked with Eastern Ranges NAB League program, Casey VFLW and St Kilda’s Next Gen Academy and we’re thrilled to have her specific experience with women’s football on board! Appointment of Under 19’s Coaches

Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club Inc. is proud to announce the appointment of Pierre Schumann to the role of Under 19’s Coach for season 2021.

We are also delighted to announce that Pierre will be joined by senior players Ben Robertson and Sean Young as Assistant Coaches. Robbo has been involved with the Under 19’s for several years while Youngy joins the panel in his first year at Boronia. We expect a couple more announcements in the very near future.

Pierre is a former junior and senior premiership player of our Club and brings with him a wealth of coaching experience to our Under 19 player cohort. I was fortunate to have Pierre as my development coach in a ‘previous life’ at another club and I can guarantee you our players will get a passionate, caring, and knowledgeable coach who drives high standards and behaviours that mirror the culture and values of our senior club.

Pierre’s record as a local coach in relation to premiership success is second to none.  Having coached 6 teams to premierships, Pierre has an intricate understanding on what is required to create sustained team success.

Shoey, it is fantastic to have you back at ‘The Hawka’ and we look forward to watching you prepare and develop our senior players of the future!
