PREMIERSHIP CUPS ON TOUR | GJ Gardner

G.J. Gardner Homes Australia have been a long time GOLD sponsor of our club. Owned and operated by Steve & Bec Moore at the eastern branch in Wantirna South they have always been generous with this sponsorship which started back when they were a part of the Junior Club.

There is no better way of showing our appreciation then to drop by with the cups to grab a photo with them both.

Announcement | 2024 Senior Women’s Coaches

Boronia Hawks are excited to announce the Senior Women’s Coaching panel for the 2024 season. The coaches who took the team through the finals to win the Division 1 premiership have all been re-appointed.

Please join us all in congratulating Scott Nicholas as head coach and assistants Nicole Guy and Lachie Watson, while Brad Slater is appointed in a new role as Senior Women’s Performance Manager.

We are fortunate to have these four coaches with strong experience with women’s football programs. They have been instrumental in developing our team culture, values and game plans and empowering our players to take on their own leadership within the squad. We look forward to the coaches and players continuing their development pathways and to achieving successful outcomes again in the coming season.

Scott Nicholas has been appointed to coach our Senior Women’s Team for the sixth season following the 2023 Division 1 premiership. Scott is now widely recognised as a leading Women’s coach in the EFNL and was the league’s Senior Coach of the Year, across men and women’s football, in 2021. He was also named as Coach of the 2023 Division 1 Team of the Year.

Nicole Guy was welcomed to the Hawks’ coaching panel during the 2023 season, coming over from Ferntree Gully. She won one B&F with FTG and was also runner up B&F, despite suffering two severe knee injuries in each of her two seasons. The injuries curtailed her playing career, so she began coaching, including the 2022 season in Premier Division alongside Tim Cavanagh. Nicole very quickly became a valued part of the Boronia coaching team and played a key role in the latter part of the season.

Lachie Watson will continue in his role as Senior Assistant Coach, having been with the team from the first season in 2018. Lachie is well known to all Hawks supporters for his explosive football skills since he came up from the juniors. He now applies his excellent football brain and teaching skills to our Women’s Program again in 2024.

Brad Slater will take up a new role as Senior Women’s Performance Manager in 2024. He has been part of Boronia’s coaching team for two years and brings enormous experience to the squad. He played over 200 games at Mitcham in Division 1 before an extensive coaching career, most recently with St. Simons and Rowville Knights where he coached Under 15, Under 16 and Under 18 girls from 2016-2020.

PREMIERSHIP CUPS ON TOUR | Hawks Nest Coterie Group

The Hawks Nest Coterie Group has been the heartbeat of the club for 14 years now, providing much needed sponsorship money back to the club. The group has 80 plus dedicated supporters who turn up in numbers every home game but also travel to our away games. They are passionate and can be heard cheering from miles away!

As a club we are so fortunate to have the Coterie group not only for their sponsorship but the droves of volunteers they provide when hosting finals at Tormore.

The Coterie committee consists of Bomma, Leanne & Dillio Rech, Panda & Plugger who jumped at the opportunity to grab a photo with the cups @ Tormore.

Thanks again Coterie and we know this year has been a special one that has provided the group with the reward for the years of support!

PREMIERSHIP CUPS ON TOUR | Allstate Refrigeration Services

It took a while but we finally caught up with Woody who owns and runs Allstate Refrigeration.

Kristan Wood was instrumental in putting together the structure and team that won our senior premiership back in 2018 and is now Junior President and celebrating a further two premierships this year with the Under 16 Girls and Under 14 Boys. Both Woody and Maria Gagic were rapt to be united again with the junior cups plus the two senior cups!

Allstate have been a long time GOLD sponsor of our club and we can’t thank Woody enough for his sponsorship and leadership within the club.

Thanks again Woody and the team at Allstate and we look forward in continuing our partnership in 2024!

PREMIERSHIP CUPS ON TOUR | Repurpose It

Repurpose It – formally Bark King – is another one of our proud GOLD sponsors. Ash & Stu Johnson have been supporting the club for years through Bark King and it is great that we can continue this partnership via Repurpose It.

They are our major senior jumper sponsor as well as our Boronia Road Goal sponsor. It was all smiles at their Montrose depot when we rocked up with the cups to grab a photo with them!

Repurpose It is all about sustainability and go about eliminating waste via closed loop waste systems. Their mantra is that they “Do it well and give back’ …. not only to our environment but to sporting clubs like ours!

Thanks again Ash and the team at Repurpose It and we look forward in continuing our partnership in 2024!

PREMIERSHIP CUPS ON TOUR | Dyson Currie Timber Wholesalers

Dyson Currie are one of our long-time GOLD sponsors of the club which is run by a former president – Tim Currie. Tim lives and breathes the Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club and is constantly giving back to the club whether it be by sponsorship, volunteering his time as a team manager ….or giving our coaches advice!

Tormore Reserve is unofficially his second home so there was no other better place to catch up with Tim and relive our premiership success.

Thanks again Tim for all that you do and give to our great club and look forward in seeing you rev up the players soon at pre-season!

2023/24 Summer Netball

EFNL is launching the inaugural Summer Netball Season on Friday 27 October. Boronia is well represented with two teams taking the court: Boronia Hawks and Boronia Gold.

The very best of luck to our two Netball teams that take the court tonight for the summer season! Alisha Clark has done a great job getting the teams organised at short notice.

Any new players are very welcome to join as either regulars or fill ins. Please contact our Netball Manager Alisha if you have any enquiries.

PREMIERSHIP CUPS ON TOUR | Jackson Taylor MP

Our local member for Bayswater, Jackson Taylor MP has been a long-time supporter of the club and from the moment he was first elected he has been in our corner working to secure $1.2 million towards our new clubrooms.

What many people won’t know is that he worked tirelessly behind the scenes in helping us navigate a path forward and generating momentum to ultimately make the new clubroom a reality. Quite simply, without his help the new clubroom may not have happened.

His love of the Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club shone through on Grand Final day as he cheered nervously from the outer wing all kitted out in his Hawka merch.

As the premiership cup tour continues, a stop off at his Bayswater office beckoned and it was great to show him the silverware up close and to grab a photo.

Many politicians have come and gone after promising the world to us, but Jackson has been a man of his word and for that we can’t thank him enough!
