Round 3: was a mixed bag for the club.

Seniors: Although controlling large parts of the game, our inaccurate kicking cost us against Upper Gully. We had the same scoring shots but lost by 20 points. Best on ground was Bolts with Andy Phillips and Cam Jackson supporting effectively. Coops had another good game and kicked 2 majors.
Reserves: Like the Seniors, the boys controlled most of the game but could not put the score on the board. Lachie Watson kicked another 3 goals and was best on. Belly, Cats & Shagga also played well.
Colts: The Colts bounced back this week with a 18 point win. It was a tight first half but the guys kicked 5 goals to 2 in the 2^nd half. Best players were Rambo, Corey Burgess & Rappa.
Vets: The Vets didn’t play last week but take on South Belgrave at home on Sunday. They will be hoping for a better performance from the coaches box this week.
Netballers:
Boronia Gold take on Eastern Lions this week at Knox Netball Centre which should be a great clash between last years premiers and the form team of the grading games.
Boronia Brown play Scoresby at ESIC. Their teamwork is definitely improving after only playing together for 2 weeks.
Good luck to both teams this week.

Social Events

– Saturday 16^th May v Heathmont: Ladies lunch. Book through Ellen in canteen or Sandra via boronia@efl.org.au (mailto:boronia@efl.org.au) .
– Saturday 30^th May The Gala Ball. See Snico or Jordy Veness

This week the footballers take on Templestowe at Home. It will be a good test against last years grand finalists. See you all there and go Hawka!

Season 2015 has started with a bang
Seniors: The seniors had another win to go 2 – 0 beating the fast finishing Park Orchards by 15 points with Larso, Veness and Zac each kicking a couple of goals. Best players were Leeso, Andy Phillips and BT
The Ressie’s: The boys ended up having to settle for a draw after leading by 39 points at 3Q time. It is a game the younger guys will learn from. The positives were Lachie Watson kicking 3 goals and Cats, Carrodus, Castersen & Decca’s all playing well. This will give the match committee a few headaches this week.
Colts: The colts went down by 17 points with Park Orchards kicking 5 goals to our 1 in the last quarter. Best players were Corey Burgess, Jake Godwin & Justin Wade. Looking forward to see the boys bounce back this week.
The 19’s will be playing a modified fixture this year due to low numbers. Please get down and support them whenever you can.
Vets: The vets didn’t get the start they were looking for losing by 2 goals to North Ringwood. Best Players were Stiffler, Ravo, Scotty G and Naf.
Netballers: Defending Champions Boronia Gold won both grading games against Ringwood and Ringwood East last week. The competition has become more competitive but the girls will be up there again this year.
Boronia Brown played their first grading games for the season. They won against East Ringwood 2 but lost against Coldstream white. It was a fair result considering most players met for the first time on the night.
Good luck to both teams this week.

Social Events

** Premiership Player Reunion 2000

Hi All,

It has been 15 years since the 2000 Premiership Team has had a get together and reminisced about the beautiful night at VFL Park.

The wait is over. On the 18th April (details below) there has been a 2000 reunion organised which will coincide with my first Presidents Luncheon
You are invited to come along and help us enjoy the day. There will be old and new faces and plenty of laughs and exaggerated stories I would imagine.
Also on the day will be our Guest speaker: Former Geelong and Essendon ruckman John Barnes. John played 202 games and kicked 90 goals between 1987 -2001 including winning the 2000 premiership with the Bombers

Let’s all get together and make this a really great day. It is also a chance to reminisce about the good times that were had over the journey. We are hoping to get all of the 2000 Premiership team there apart from those silly enough to be still playing.
It is a Luncheon, which includes a meal and drinks between 12.00 – 14.00. Then Drinks will be at bar prices.

Date: 18th April
Time: 12.00
Where: Boronia Football Club (Tormore Rd Boronia)
Dress: Smart Casual
Cost: Free for all Premiership players & $ 60.00 per head for everyone else

Hi All,

With summer now a distant memory it only means one thing: FOOTY SEASON!

YOU ARE ALL INVITED TO JOIN US AS WE WELCOME IN SEASON 2014

We will announce all club coaches and assistants, club captains, major sponsors, #1 and #2 ticket holders.

Following this the coaches will read out the all important selections to take on Ringwood Round 1.

When: Thursday, 3rd April.
Time: Bar and meals from 6.30pm with formalities starting from 8.00pm.
Where: Boronia Football Club – Tormore Road, Boronia.
