Pre-Season Training now on for 2015

Preseason training has resumed at Tormore Reserve. Please remember that boots are not allowed at this stage.

Training will be Mon & Wed 6- 7.30 with Friday nights at Bayswater Secondary unless otherwise advised

** UNDER 19s and Netballers in Grand Final!

Congratulations goes out to the 19’s who put four quarters together against Wanny Sth to earn their shot at the big one. This is a rematch of last year’s granny against Ringwood and it’s our turn. Good luck to Cats and the boys.

The other side to reach the granny is of course the netball ladies. They have had an awesome season so best of luck Hawkettes.

UNDER 19’s – Sunday: 9.10am start at East Burwood

NETBALL – Friday: 7.30pm start at Eastern Indoor

Make sure we all get there to show our support.

Congratulations to Buzzy, Bolts, Gricey and Little Reddas who have been invited to the EFL Best and Fairest. From netball we have 3 more invited: the 2 Steph’s and Bec “Booney” Mills. Good luck to all.

Presentation night is filling up quickly so if you haven’t secured your ticket please see Tim or Sandra.

Details are – Knox Club Friday, 19^th September 7.00pm start. $45 per person includes meal. Pay at the door.

** Great Start for Seniors & 19s

It was a fantastic start to our finals campaign on the weekend.

Our seniors got off to a flyer kicking 5 goals to nothing in the first quarter and from there Sth Belgrave had to play catch up. The boys maintained their pressure and ran all day to eventually run out 7-goal winners. Gricey and Bolts both had plenty of it and with the back half dominant again the game was a pleasure to watch.

The 19’s sought out redemption following a narrow loss to Wanny Sth last time they met. The young lads got it together when it counted and finished 4 goals ahead when the final siren sounded. Patto was again great up forward whilst nothing got passed H-Man across half back. The win sees the boys play off for a spot in the Granny.

Next Saturday our Seniors take on The Dockers on Saturday 2.00pm at Ringwood and the U19’s take on Ringwood on Sunday at 9.40 at East Burwood.

Don’t forget to sure up your tickets for presentation night. Friday 19^th September at the Knox Club. See Tim or Sandra for details.

Look forward to seeing you all next week either hosting or playing finals.

** BOUNCING BACK

A disappointing day for the Hawka after our trip up the hill to play South Belgrave at their ground. Unfortunately for the first time since I can remember we went without a win in all three sides. The good thing about footy is that there is always next week. So it’s time to get serious and work hard if we are going anywhere this season.

Socially coming up is our little day for club legend Mark Church featuring “TONE THE BONE” as entertainment. Sunday 13^th July at the club starting from Midday. Get around this day as it promises to be hilarious.

Don’t forget to get your 200 draw tickets from Woody. This is always a great night and the clubs biggest function.

The netballers are going great guns. Our 2’s keep trying and look really competitive whilst the gold side shot a new league record 114 to 6 .This Friday they take on the also undefeated Croydon. Get down to Eastern Indoor and check it out!!!!!!!!!

We are back at home this week v Glen Waverly Hawks and look for redemption. See you all there.

** HARDY HAMMERS HOME GAME #400

The under 19s boys continued on their merry way remaining undefeated. It was great to see Jacko Jackson on debut for the club and bagging 8 goals. Well done mate.

Our ressies returned to the winners list and clearly keep improving each week under the guidance of Fletch. Little Hammer made a great statement with B.O.G. honours and must be in the mix for a return to the seniors.

The big story of the week goes to our triumphant leader Hards, who plays his 400th (yes you read that right) SENIOR game of football this weekend… An incredible feat – let’s bring home four points this weekend for Marc, what an incredible achievement!

The netball ladies had 2 very convincing wins and looked awesome in the new Hawka dresses. With the old boys (Vets) also winning by 3 goals it rounded off a fantastic weekend for the club making it 6 from 6.

Don’t forget the comedy night on June 28^th. This will be a great night with a full house. See Tim, Sandra or Snico for tickets. Get in quick so you don’t miss out.

Good luck to all sides this week as we take on Wantirna South away.
