** BOUNCING BACK

A disappointing day for the Hawka after our trip up the hill to play South Belgrave at their ground. Unfortunately for the first time since I can remember we went without a win in all three sides. The good thing about footy is that there is always next week. So it’s time to get serious and work hard if we are going anywhere this season.

Socially coming up is our little day for club legend Mark Church featuring “TONE THE BONE” as entertainment. Sunday 13^th July at the club starting from Midday. Get around this day as it promises to be hilarious.

Don’t forget to get your 200 draw tickets from Woody. This is always a great night and the clubs biggest function.

The netballers are going great guns. Our 2’s keep trying and look really competitive whilst the gold side shot a new league record 114 to 6 .This Friday they take on the also undefeated Croydon. Get down to Eastern Indoor and check it out!!!!!!!!!

We are back at home this week v Glen Waverly Hawks and look for redemption. See you all there.

** HARDY HAMMERS HOME GAME #400
————————————————————
The under 19s boys continued on their merry way remaining undefeated. It was great to see Jacko Jackson on debut for the club and bagging 8 goals. Well done mate.

Our ressies returned to the winners list and clearly keep improving each week under the guidance of Fletch. Little Hammer made a great statement with B.O.G. honours and must be in the mix for a return to the seniors.

The big story of the week goes to our triumphant leader Hards, who plays his 400th (yes you read that right) SENIOR game of football this weekend… An incredible feat – let’s bring home four points this weekend for Marc, what an incredible achievement!

The netball ladies had 2 very convincing wins and looked awesome in the new Hawka dresses. With the old boys (Vets) also winning by 3 goals it rounded off a fantastic weekend for the club making it 6 from 6.

Don’t forget the comedy night on June 28^th. This will be a great night with a full house. See Tim, Sandra or Snico for tickets. Get in quick so you don’t miss out.

Good luck to all sides this week as we take on Wantirna South away.

Round 8 Versus The Basin – Away

** FIRST ANNUAL HEADSPACE COMMUNITY CUP
————————————————————
Three big wins at Tormore saw us get back on the winners list. The U19s had a huge win against the undermanned Chirnside Park. Smarty bagged 10 in a great solo effort. The boys are 2 games and 200% clear on top of the ladder.

Our 2’s got that winning feeling back in a great four-quarter effort and are now back in the chase for top 5.

The seniors ran out eight-goal winners in a very scrappy game. They will need to improve against the top sides or the result maybe a little closer.

The netballers are going great guns Our Boronia Gold side won comfortably again and remain on top of the ladder and the Brown side posted their first victory. Super stuff ladies. A reminder to all to get to Eastern Indoor on a Friday night and show our support.

Socially – Sunday June 15^th – BFC GENTLEMANS DAY STARRING COMMEDIAN “TONE THE BONE” $10 entry and drinks at bar prices. Starting from 1.00pm.

This week we take on The Basin in the first annual HEADSPACE COMMUNITY CUP. Designed around raising awareness for 16-25 year olds, that if they have any issues they are not alone. This will be a great event for a great cause. See details on the flyer below.

Round 7 Versus Chirnside Park – Home

** TIME TO BOUNCE BACK

The under 19’s continued their unbeaten start to the season in what was a fantastic hard fought game. The young lads eventually snuck over the line by 4 points and now sit a game clear on top of the ladder.

The Ressies had a day they would rather forget. Mitcham got the jump on us and we were never in a position to peg them back.

The senior game for outright top spot was a fierce contest. The game unfolded in the 3^rd quarter when Mitcham slammed on 8 goals to our 4. There’s the difference right there. When the final siren went off the margin was 6 goals. We have a lot of improvement in us, so come next time around we expect the game to be a lot closer.

The netball Boronia Gold side continue to impress now sitting on top of the ladder undefeated. The Boronia Brown side got beaten by a better team on the night but are really getting it together and we will definitely see them climb the ladder.

This week we are at home hosting Chirnside Park. They have had a shaky start to the season and I’m sure our boys will be out to atone for last week’s result.

Round 6 Versus Mitcham – Away

** TOP OF THE TABLE CLASH

The Hawka boys walked away with three great wins last week against old foes UFTG. The under 19s remain undefeated, our Ressies have hit form and are now only one game from outright second and the seniors are still undefeated – second on the ladder by percentage.
A big thankyou to Ellen, Janine and Sandra for making the ladies day a great success. Well done girls!
The netballers have kicked off their season in great fashion. The Boronia Gold side is undefeated whilst the Brown side have narrowly lost but aren’t too far away from a win. Don’t forget to check the times they play on our web site and get there on a Friday and give them our support.
To say this week’s game against Mitcham is huge would be a massive understatement. The under 19 boys are both vying for undisputed top spot. The Ressies are both looking at cementing themselves in the top 3 and the Seniors are also playing for undefeated top spot on the ladder.
Everyone get down to Mitcham and get right behind the Hawka this week.

Round 4 – Away versus Whitehorse Pioneers

A great day at Tormore last week posting 2 out of 3 wins in front of a great crowd. The Unders continue their winning streak with a 7 goal to nil first quarter to ice the game early. The Ressies just went down in very close game but are now starting to get some depth through the side and a win is just around the corner. Our seniors kicked the winning goal with a minute to go in what was a very tight game for 4 quarters. Great effort all round. L Mac played his first game in the ones this week and went BANG! BOG – well done matey.

Our old vets kicked off the season with a narrow 2 point loss to Scoresby. The boys had the game dusted and then enter Dean “Gollo” Collins. He had 2 shots on goal; the first didn’t make the distance from 15m out after kicking the ground before the ball. He left a divot a small truck would get lost in. The 2^nd shot from 10m out to win the game (all he had to do was score) went off the side and hit smack on top of the point post and nearly burst the ball. It was definitely one of the funnier things I have seen in football. Keep us laughing Collo.

The girls kick off their netball season this Friday and I can’t wait to do a match report on that next week. Good luck ladies, I’m sure you will do the Hawka proud.

** President’s Lunch Almost Filled

Another fantastic win from the under 19’s after a 4-quarter dominant display. Young Patto continues his good form with a lazy 9-goal haul.

The Ressies narrowly went down but are definitely building and will surely open their account very soon. The seniors went 2 and Zip after a 10 point win in a very scrappy affair. Patty and Lukey both dominated the backline with Moorey keeping Big Breesey to 1 goal.

The netball girls kicked off their season with a round robin. They played like winners only losing 1 game from 6 between the two sides. The season starts proper Friday night 2^nd May at Eastern Indoor. Make sure you get down and have a look and show them our support.

After Easter The Templestowe Dockers head out to our home turf. Its only early in the season but this is a top of the table clash so it should be an absolute ripper.
